So good news to all the pie lovers out there! After the overwhelming sales from Valentines Day, and thanks to an excellent business plan that several people helped with, including my wonderful girlfriend Chuck, I am pleased that New York will soon be the home of The Pie Hole II.

The outside won't be quite as charming as the inside, but still. Anyway, I'm looking for waitresses and a delivery person. I know several people talked to me about working for me once the shop was up and running, so now I'm formally accepting applications. Well, all you really need is to tell me why you'd like to work with pie and what your pie passion is and I'll see what I can do.

Um, I have a question for you. Well, or something I want to talk to you about. I know you do magic, and this isn't quite magic in the traditional sense but I'm still hoping you can help me. It's a little different than advertising though...

Guinevere 'ent here, 'en I went to look for Hazel, to see if she would maybe want to make some pancakes for breakfast tomorrow, 'en she's gone too, 'en I don't want anyone else to leave.

I 'ent going to school tomorrow, I'm going to go fly kites at the park, cos I'm sad and I need something to make me happy, 'en it 'ent fair. It 'ent fair that we come here, 'en it 'ent fair that we don't have a say in when we leave, 'en it 'ent fair to the people who have to stay who have memories of people that they can't even ever get that person back, cos even if they come through again, you have to start all over 'en you're the one with old memories that aren't even really true, since the other person doesn't even know about 'em. It 'ent fair.

So, uhhh it kind of sucks to wake up and call out to your girlfriend and realize she's not there. I mean, I know she's back home and there's nothing going on back home except for college, but yeah. At least she's back home, you know! Because that's where she belongs anyway.

[FILTERED TO MEDICAL STAFF]

I was wondering if one of you might be able to help me catch up on the medical advancements of the last ninety years? I graduated from Trinity College in 1918, and while I graduated with honors and was well respected in my time (I even got a job with a prestigious teaching hospital in England), it's been a long time and there's just a lot I don't know anymore.

I appreciate any help you might give me. I've tried reading some journals online, and they're just well beyond what I learned. But antibiotics are incredible. Absolutely stunning. What I would have done to have something that could stop infection so efficiently...

If nothing else, at least medicine's advanced a lot since I studied it.

So I'm disappointed I didn't get my act together fast enough to get a hunting license during actual hunting season, but maybe it's for the best. After hunting chimera and giants, I don't know if I'd have much fun with deer. And I'd need someone over 18 to supervise me, which is kinda silly.

Introducing: SuperSud's Spring Lineup!

Limited Edition:
Garrus Vakarian: Neroli, honeydew melons, white amber, magnolia, sun-scorched wood and green musk. The musk cuts a masculine note admist lighter, clean fruits.
Setsuna Meioh: Mysterious, beautiful, and patient. Cinnamon against the background glow of amber and cardamom, pimento berry and creamy benzoin create a smoky, warm incense smell.
Claire Bennet: Deceptively girly with an edge that appears in the drydown. Sun-warmed daisies and pink musk against the base notes of caramel, fresh-cut grass, and metallic copper.
Diana Prince: Calming herbal lavender made powerful by the undercut of vertiver and amber. A frothy, diaphanous vanilla laces through a sharp lime. Unique, unisex, and beautiful.
Raven Darkholme: This one's a morpher, and is composed of ingredients that smell different depending upon your personal chemistry. Cotton candy goes straight to winter berries and black musk. Jasmine and orange peel in the background keep this perfume anything but traditional, but always lovely.
Rose Tyler: A blast of rain-tinted ozone, lime meringue, and freesia makes this perfume light, breezy, and clean - perfect for the office (or for going on space adventures and not making the doctor sneeze!). Adventurous and uncomplicated.
Sam Merlotte: Cozy, warm, and definitely sexy (sorry Sam, but everyone knows it's true!). This fragrance mixes ginger and caramel in a gourmand vein without ever getting too sweet. Smooth benzoin and single malt whiskey notes add depth, while brown musk makes the scent feeling... well, just a little bit furry.

Special Spring Scents: inspired by a comment made by Ellen Ripley. Thank you! This scents are available as perfume oils or as room sprays!

Flowers in Space This was a bit of an experiment - pure ozone, cold, clinical mint, and stray hints of a floating bouquet. Daisies, Queen Anne's Lace, and fresh stems hover at the edge of the scent. A unique take on smelling of flowers.
Flowers on the Battlefield: Lay down your wreath, and honor your heroes: Stately rose, white orchid, calla lily, rainfall, and cold stone. Serene and solemn.
Flowers in the Lab What happens if you deliver flowers to the lab geeks? Spritely, spicy carnations, a zap of electricity, and a light undercurrent of mint, smoke, and cologne of uncertain origin. Playful and silly!
Screw Flowers; They Suck For those of us who were spurned, get allergies, or otherwise loathe flowers: A forgotten bouquet of love-lies-bleeding (a spiky, plush flower known for its tendency to injure), despondent pear, and a box of discount Valentines Day Chocolates.

Also! The business has really taken off, and I'm so grateful to everyone who's purchased and enjoyed my products. It wouldn't have been possible without you, and without taking advantage of the strangely obsessive nature of NYC's bustling fandom.

That said, I would love to hire anyone interested in the following roles:

Packing/Shipping/Delivery: This person would ideally be able to lift up to 40 lbs easily and travel the city to deliver my products to participating stores. He/she would also need to manage the shipment of products from the web, and make sure that the orders are filled, packed, and picked up by the post office.

Shop Clerk: This person would need to be friendly, like meeting new people, and willing to help sell products in the store! I track sales but we don't do commission - just end of the month bonuses. All I need is enthusiasm and a willingness to learn, though an interest in bath and body products wouldn't hurt.

March certainly is a funny month. The promise of spring so very near but winter insisting on lingering still. It was so bright when I awoke this morning that I had such high hopes. Unfortunately, we are not quite there yet, I fear. I believe as Dickens put it "summer in the light, but winter in the shade."

Incidentally, I know there was talk of a book club forming on and off since people have been here, and watching the Oscars this weekend past reminded me of the list of books I had planned to read now that I am a bit more current on the science of the past 50 years. Would anyone care to read Life of Pi?

In the extremely-limited occasions where the press succeeds in asking me questions, they never ask me questions that I find particularly compelling. One of the questions I'd wish they'd ask would be which scientists I admire, and why. So I guess I'll write about that.

There are many brilliant pioneers in my field whose work has directly dovetailed with my own, and in fact a handful of them live and work here in NYC. However, one historical figure I've admired since I was young was one German chemist Robert Bunsen. No, he didn't invent the Bunsen Burner, although he was responsible for the improvements that led to its ultimate popularity. Bunsen was, in scientific terms, capable of genius-levels of death-defying badassery.

We'll start with his love affair with arsenic. His experiments with cacodyls (which are arsenic-based) made him hallucinate, coated his tongue in a black covering (that was never actually sussed out rationally, by the way, but then again: would you mess around with that?), caused his hands and feet to tingle, and produced in him giddiness and insensibility that led to some truly awkward academic conferences. Eventually, Bunsen developed the antidote to arsenic poisoning that is still in use today. He only stopped experimenting with the dangerous chemical when the explosion of an arsenic-laced glass beaker took out his right eye.

After that, Bunsen decided to tone down his difficult, deadly experiments by going into a more peaceful direction. Oh wait - no he didn't. He built a geyser in his lab to understand the mechanics of natural explosions. Bunsen collected vapors, boiling liquids, and samples of magma in his travels in an attempt to determine how to make the biggest boom. And boom he did - he succeeded in setting fire to his lab twenty-three times. His research eventually gave birth to the spectroscope that paved the way to the modern periodic table of elements.

I have other scientists, but I will save them for another day, I think.

A few holo movies, episodes or books will never give you the full story on the people inside them. They will only give you a brief window with which to view them, and to use that in a derogatory manner is not only hurtful, but closed minded. Perhaps Master Yoda's immortal words that you must unlearn what you have learned may be applicable here. I believe everyone deserves a chance to show who they really are beyond a simple window.

International Refugee Festival

Friends! The Displaced, the dispossessed and refugees all. I beg your attention for one moment that I might share an idea.

We have come from all different walks in life, alternate worlds, and in that way are we unfamiliar with each other beyond brief scatterings of knowledge found in printed, published or other media. And so I would like to take a moment to suggest an idea to change that.

My cousin and I propose an event for our Springtime season to promote knowledge, understanding and acceptance of our cultures and our worlds. I would like to design an international festival for all of us here so that we might come together in one place and show each other the pieces of our world that we the people feel represent us.

Have you any objects, items, lore on your person, in your rooms, or in your minds that you would share with us on one day then I bid you, join me and my cousin in planning this. I We would dearly love to learn of you. And I we should dearly love to share my our world with you as well.

It would be good, I think, to span universes and expand our knowledge of each other.

We welcome all! Large, small, old, and new.. to friendship and peace.

When I was younger, I was told I had quite the active (and at times over-active) imagination. I was a very romantic child who liked to read all the breathy stories about lovers and death parting them. I used to think that they defined tragedy. My definition is now somewhat changed.

Or it hasn't, not really. I'm still moved by the gentle pitch and sway of emotional upset, but I think there are other brutal darknesses in the world that account for true suffering. That nothing can be defined by the bitter tears at a graveside alone and that pain and loss and hardships are all as individual and unique as the faces they crease.
