You know, even with all of the new people who are constantly arriving and joining us here in Potts Tower, it's easy to somehow forget that people ARE new, especially if they've been here before. I'm guilty of it, and I feel terrible for it. Therefore, I'd like to propose that we hold a get together this Thursday on the 13th floor, to meet to new people, to introduce them around, and to get to know one another and just to celebrate the fact that Spring is FINALLY here! Or we can do it Friday night, if that's better. But anyway, maybe start gathering around 6 or so, and bring a dish or bag of chips -- something easy to find and pick up and share. I can make sure that drinks like tea or lemonade are provided, but anything else would be up to everyone else.

Does this sound good?

Hello, everyone! Just a reminder that I am your Housing Assistant. We've had a few people leave us over the last several days, and that's just too sad. On the heels of the get together I mentioned above, I'd also like to invite you all to my apartment on Tuesday for a potluck dinner. I'll provide a meat and vegetarian entree and drinks, and if those of you on the 9th floor could bring your favorite side dish, and the 10th floor could bring your favorite dessert, I think that'd set us up very nicely.

While you can (and should!) bring any problems you might be having to me at any time, the purpose of this will be to promote a community environment for us, and for you to bring any issues you are aware of to the group in general and me in particular.

I also want to let you know that beginning on April 14, will be out of the country until May 2 or 3. The Philharmonic will be touring Europe this spring, and I am contract-bound to join them. Please look to Michael Westen or Sam Axe for anything you might need, any of the other Housing Assistants, or Stark Charities itself.

I've received the official itinerary for the New York Philharmonic's Spring Tour, which will be held across Europe this year. I've asked Michael Westen and Sam Axe to step in for me as needed, and I would be very appreciative if I can count on my fellow Housing Assistants to keep an eye on my floors until I'm back. I'll be leaving on April 14, and I will be back on May 2 or 3.

Why do fish always sing off-key?

answer )

I guess I was in a coma. All I know is that I'm so tired, and I think I'm a little hungry for the first time in days. But good news, I think that my fever's gone, and in about ten years I'll feel like moving out of Michael's bed. And that's a very, very low estimate.

What is this flu that's coming out of Iceland? Airports are shut down, and I hope that contains it, but holy crow it sounds awful. It certainly puts into perspective my own little health issues.

I saw where Sam signed up for that war games thing at the end of the month. If you want to do that with him, I can watch Charlie.

TEXT TO PEPPER POTTS (MCU):
-- So last week happened. Yo-Yo Ma and all.
-- P.S. he is amazing.
-- And then I got sucked into a tv.
-- Which isn't as fun as you would think.

This week is, possibly, the biggest musical week of my life.

No, it's not. Auditioning for Juilliard and then GETTING IN was the biggest musical series of moments in my life. This is going to rank up there, though. If you've been paying attention, waaaaay back a few months I mentioned something about Yo-Yo Ma here, and now that week has come. Wednesday through Saturday, the NY Philharmonic will be accompanying him and his roaming band of musicians.

I'm going to be on the same stage as Yo-Yo Ma. Excuse me while I freak out, just a little bit.

Filter to Pepper Potts (MCU)
It's normal to have insomnia when you're nervous like this, right? And it's not like he'll be playing exclusively with me, there will be an entire orchestra, so I don't know why I'm freaking out.

It has been a fulfilling start to the new year.

Audrey, if I may have a minute of your time.

Beverly Crusher and I would like to move apartments, from our two apartments into one apartment - perhaps one of the two bedrooms like 907 or 908?

Do we contact you to make these arrangements or someone else?

If you haven't bought your tickets for the orchestra yet, February is going to be the PERFECT time to do it. In just about a month, Yo-Yo Ma will be performing with the New York Philharmonic the week of February 15th, beginning on February 18th and continuing through the 21st. On the 24th, he will be celebrating the Chinese New Year with us, and that looks like it's going to be extra fun and extra fancy.

So do the two of you have a traveling hotspot? Every so often I get a notice on my phone that a wifi called Tony Stark is ready to connect. I mean, it's okay, I'm just curious why it's on here in the Tower, which is pretty saturated with wi-fi.

When I was a kid, we always spent Christmases with my aunt and uncle, when they lived just about an hour outside of Seattle, before they moved to Boston. After that, we were lucky to see them once a year, and this year was the first year that I've been able to see them at Christmas since I was about fifteen, and it was so great. And eye-opening. So, so eye-opening. I'd never spent Christmas, as an adult, with children older than about eight months, until this year. But this year -- ohhhh this year. My cousins have four kids between them, and Michael had Charlie, and it was magical. If this is how my Christmases look for the future, I'll take it.

FILTERED TO SAM MERLOTTE:
I don't suppose you have any openings downstairs, do you? I'm working at one of the restaurants, but I'd like something a little more casual.
FILTERED TO HICKS:
I'm going to talk to our housing assistant, see if there's any openings.
FILTERED TO AUDREY NATHAN:
My friend and I were thinking about sharing a two bedroom, but we weren't sure if there were any openings on this floor. Would you mind looking into that for me?

So it appears that we have a few more neighbors, Sam, Michael, and Hannah. Welcome! I'm Audrey, and I'm your housing assistant. I'm in 901, and I'm always available via text message at [cell number], but don't be concerned if there are times when it is a few hours before I can respond. I'm a cellist with the New York Philharmonic, and my concert and rehearsal schedule can be a little crazy.

I'm planning on seeing the lighting of the Rockefeller Center tree tomorrow evening, if any of you would like to come along!

Don't forget about the tree lighting in Rockefeller Center tomorrow night! It's always beautiful and cold.

When I was attending Juilliard and living here in the city, it sometimes became easy to forget that New York has so much to offer during the holiday season. The Macy's Parade is so obvious and takes over so much, but the lighting of the tree at Rockefeller Center isn't so much, I think. Or maybe I tended to block it out because right after Thanksgiving all I did was literally eat, sleep, and breathe music and finals and making it through until Christmas. In any case, I was going through my email and I found a reminder that the lighting of the tree is next Wednesday.

There will be live music and performances from 7-9 p.m. on December 3, and if it's not something you've ever seen, then I strongly urge you to go! I'll be there, and I want to see you all! :)

Instead of a TIL, I have a TWIL (This Week I Learned).

TWIL that my phone warranty does not cover ghosts or zombies. I had to ask about the zombies as a just in case, since it was the ghost who shattered the screen when it was ripped from my hand the other night. Luckily, I was able to pay the insurance, so for around $200 my phone was replaced. Excellent. Because I can really afford that right now.

ETA:All right, who's with me? Someone's gotta watch a re-run of Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever with me, since I won't be able to watch it on the night it first airs. #firstchairproblems

TEXT TO MICHAEL WESTEN:
-- Okay so I'm being pulled away from my tea and Hulu by a zombie.

TEXT TO PEPPER POTTS (MCU):
-- Okay so I don't have Happy's cell number
-- But the zombies are back and I am being led to the elevator
-- And I think maybe someone ought to check and see if the surveillance stuff is working, maybe?

You know, the nerf war was fun. It would have been even more fun is SOMEONE hadn't betrayed our friendship and THRUST me into the line of sight of someone else. I lost because of that. I know it.

Michael Westen, you owe me a REALLY nice dinner for this.

ETA AFTER MIDNIGHT: Filter to Pepper Potts (MCU AND AA), Michael Westen, Dwayne Hicks
The younger Pepper Potts contacted me a little while ago about noises in apartment 1005, and we went up there together to check it out. Dwayne Hicks was already there, and said he'd heard what Pepper had, a little girl crying. I heard it to, and I let us into the apartment.

There was nothing there. We looked everywhere and there was absolutely nothing. Then a door slammed and a CHILD said "Just go away". Then we did because that was creepy.

TEXT TO PEPPER POTTS (MCU):
-- We might have a situation at Potts Tower, Pepper.
-- I just got a text from one of the tower's residents that he heard a child crying in apartment 1005.
-- He's in there now, searching.
-- It's the same apartment where I saw saw zombies the other night. Also was told by a child's voice to go away, and then was slammed into the wall. Then the zombies disappeared.
-- His name is Michael Westen and he busted the door in.

It's a little scary when you're in the waiting room for your doctor appointment and they have Fox News on and they say something you actually agree with. I really hope that the Stacy family was informed of tbis decision beforehand. Finding out after the fact isn't pleasant.

Open rehearsal at Avery Fisher Hall tomorrow morning at 9:45, amd tickets are really reasonable! If you let me know you're going beforehand I'll have lunch with you.

I love the holiday season with the symphony. This year we're doing Handel's The Messiah, and that entire program alone has some of my very favorite pieces of music. Beginning on December 16, we'll be performing it daily through December 20. I'm able to buy a certain number of tickets at a reduced rate, and if anyone would like to take advantage of this, please let me know.

Filter to Mary Margaret Blanchard, Rose Tyler, Anne Blythe
Hello, I understand from my bits of sleuthing that you are the ladies I should speak to. I'm Audrey Nathan, and I'm a cellist with the New York Philharmonic, and as I stated above, we're going to be performing our holiday piece from the 16th of December to the 20th of December. I didn't know if you were aware of it, but there are tickets available at a discount for groups, and another discount for school or youth groups, and I think it would be really amazing if I could entice you ladies into bringing the children from the Youth Center to see us perform. It's a long performanc, two hours and thirty minutes, plus an intermission, so I don't know how well little ones can sit through a performance, but the offer stands if you'd like to give it a try. I would be more than happy put you in touch with the people who would be able to make this happen for you.

I'd also like to make sure you know that I am available if you have any sort of need for someone musical to visit the kids. I'd love to bring my cello to show and play for them -- I did this with several schools and other programs in Portland, and I miss it a lot.
