So it's not just me, right? Things are weird around here.

Well, now, it's been quite some time since I've said hullo, but I've been a bit busy working on my book here. Nearly done, actually! I think next weekend would be a lovely time to do a reading for anyone who's mentioned interest.

It does look like this place has gotten interesting again, though. Always a place to give us such wonderful adventures here. I wish Gandalf were here, sometimes. He does seem to understand these things more than I'm wont to do.

Well, that was quite exciting. I can't remember a time when I found myself unintentionally on someone else's doorstep. It's quite an interesting way to meet people though, wouldn't you all agree?

It seems our brothers have left us to venture back into the realm of Middle Earth. I, for one, am sad to see them go. I hope that they can find peace, for what time they had left. For both of you, well, I fancy we should figure out what to do with the time that's been given to us here. What are your plans here, now?
[/Filtered]

It is not what we do with the future, but rather, what we do with the time that is given to us that matters the most. There may be sad times upon us with our friends and family departing; however, it's important to recognize those still here. Both alive and in spirit, for many of those who have left will never truly leave us.

I am hosting a gathering of sorts, friends old and new, this weekend in my apartment. Anyone is most welcome and I would be honoured if you all would attend, however briefly you wish to. For those who do not know me, I am Bilbo Baggins, of the Shire, Middle Earth.

It seems we've lost a few of our companions to this tesseract. If it is not too much trouble, I would like all of us to check in.

Filter: Kili
We may need to talk about what happens if one of us is sent home.

Well now that all that excitement is over with. I'm back to working on my book! Who would fancy a read with the first pages?

Not certain if I should include all that excitement with giant monsters and aliens, but maybe that can be a whole new story.

It's been a few weeks, but I was thinking about that ad to visit the Arctic. Is that typically how one goes about setting up quests in this world? I've been looking into it, and it seems adventuring is quite popular here.

I've also considered starting a small language group for those interested in learning Sindarin. I know that it has a certain appeal in this world that I don't quite understand, and perhaps I'm not the best qualified to teach, but I'm afraid I can't spend my days building snowmen and squirrel hunting.

That was quite an interesting adventure, but not one that I'd like to relive any time soon. I don't quite understand everything that happened, but I know that we're alive. Legolas? Miss Violet? Kili and Fili? Thorin? Is everyone still alive and well?

If so, we should have a celebration of sorts.

And just the right time to run out of weed for my pipe.

I am ill like the rest of you. Do any wizards here know of healing magics?

Is there somewhere a person infected with this flu virus can go so as to not infect those in her quarters?

Thank you, my friends, for reminding me that even the smallest of creatures can change the course of the future. I do not understand how it worked, but I appreciate your assistance all the same.

This place certainly has plenty of chilly weather, doesn't it? It reminds me of being up in the mountains. I suppose, one benefit is that here I have the comforts of home no matter how cold it is outside. And no dragons that I know of are around here.

I am making some evening tea and a bite to eat, maybe some biscuits with it. Would anyone care to join me and share stories? I do need to learn not to smoke so much. I'm nearly out of the spare pipe weed that had come with me here!

So, I am unfamiliar in regards to birthday parties here. In Middle Earth, as I imagine many of you know, we celebrate fondly, at least among hobbits. Food, drink, some of Gandalf's fireworks, and lovely presents to count the festivities.

A dear friend of mine here has her birthday in two days, and I'm not quite certain what to do for it. What sort of gift should I consider for her? What should I bring to the party?

Now, I'm not one to sit idly here and do nothing. But, my curiosity got the better of me today and I discovered that the box in my room displays pictures, sort of like Gandalf's magic and how that would work. Quite charming, actually. It's just a box, but it had many interesting pictures on it.

One picture seemed to be some sort of game, though I didn't understand nearly enough of it here. Something about tossing a ball around, but I don't see how that's important to anything. To each their own, then, I suppose. The box is interesting enough.

Perhaps I can tinker with it to see what other pictures will display on it. I don't know if it is magic, though, since I can use it and I'm certainly no wizard.

Okay, so I've commandeered the 13th floor's entertainment rooms for this weekend and next week for a grand extravaganza!

This weekend, we'll be showing the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy! Because it's awesome and because some people who arrived were wondering what happened and stuff. Then next week, we'll do the Hobbit movies. I found a copy of the last one. Don't ask me where

I'm not bringing snacks for everyone. That's a long time, so you'll need to bring your own. Or if you want me to buy things, I can do that, but I need everyone to pitch in before they can have any of it. I work at a coffee shop, so I don't make a lot of money.

But we have the room, and it's got comfy seats and it's big enough for like 20 people or something.

My nephews tell me it is customary to introduce oneself using this machine and that it will be seen by others. I am Thorin Oakenshield, son of Thráin, son of Thrór and I greet you all.

I must ask: if one is not "in the books" and therefore not "canon," does it discredit your life as a whole? Is that just cause to invite yourself into another's conversation to give your spite? I am not overfond of this world's disregard for others. It was mere chance that my companion and I were unprepared for such animosity.

[Legolas]

Manke naa lye omentan**? (Where are we meeting?***) If I may, may I invite a friend to our lessons? She may be helping me with my story and I think she may enjoy such a lesson.

She is a...what is the word that you said...Edan from New York.

(**Bilbo misspelled omentan, should be omentien, but he's still learning and trying!)

(added in later, filter to Violet Parr)

Would you care to join me in the morning to meet with Legolas?

This is a strange place to wake up in. I don't believe even the white city is as impressive, or well-populated.

I'm Aragorn, son of Arathorn. I believe I have friends here? Or friends of a friend.

This place is rather fascinating, well, as fascinating as any place can be that really is no place that I know of at all. And, I suppose, as fascinating as any place really can be.

The buildings are taller than the tallest trees of Middle Earth. Imagine! If I did not know better, I would believe that all the wizards of old had come through to here as well to create such tall buildings.

That being said, I am working on a beginning to my story. How should it go? I had something fairly clever written before, but in the excitement of coming here, I seem to have forgotten the words precisely. It will be called, A Hobbit's Tale: There and Back Again. Has quite a ring to it, though, I am not certain who will ever eventually read it. At least I do have a title.

Dwellings here are so much different than a hobbit hole. Hmm, maybe that is how it should start. "A hobbit hole is such a simple dwelling. Homely and safe, built neatly within the hills of the Shire..." Does sound a bit wordy to me, though. Ah, it will come to me, I imagine, some time soon. I had something clever noted down before.

In the meanwhile, I'm afraid I may be burning through my weed a bit faster than I anticipated. It's a shame no other hobbit is here, as they would more than likely have some with them. Legolas? Fili or Kili? Either of you have anything to smoke from home? May help clear my head to think a bit on how to start the tale again.
