I've just been informed I'll be one of the judges for the First Annual Pott’s Tower Pet Contest which will be interesting. It made me realise though that I could actually buy a pet while I'm here though. I haven't had one since I left Earth four years ago... I don't know about the risk with the chance I could be sent back but damn I miss having a dog.

I know there have been a fair number of new arrivals since the last time an announcement was made, so as such:

The Hub is a coffee shoppe and tea house located at 92 Christopher Street. We have various hot and cold beverages as the description suggests, with particular attention paid to the drinks being prepared traditionally as opposed to what you may find in most American-run establishments This isn't bloody Starbucks. Hours are 6am until 8pm, with occasional later hours as befits what may be happening at that time.

Should you have any questions, I'm the Manager - Donna Noble - and yes we are hiring. Interested parties should inquire in person between the hours of two and four.

Got the word last night, and secured a new apartment. Going to put some of the minions trainees to work moving my stuff in.

Whoa, this place is so not the border worlds, let alone Pandora. Too clean and neat. And boring. I've been here for several hours and no one has shot at me or thrown an axe at me or tossed dynamite at my face. Okay, that last one was just Tina and I totally deserved it.

So that's how a birthday is done. Anyone else suddenly have this stuck in their head?

I don't get a chance to talk about him nearly enough -- or usually choose not to -- but even after a couple of years it's hard not to remember my boy, Riley, on this day. It was hard not to like him within five minutes of meeting him.. the guy just knew how to win people over with his dumb jokes. Seriously.. they were pretty dumb jokes, but you found yourself rolling your eyes at him all while not taking too much offense because you had to try to lighten the mood a bit out there.

Riley and I were assigned to the 58th Rescue Squadron. We were pretty much starting at the same time. You think you could do all the research before joining the Armed Forces and know what you're expecting? No, there is probably nothing that could ever prepare you for it. It was pretty important to know that you weren't going though that overwhelming feeling alone. Riley was there every step of the way. It was my idea to become pararescuemen. It was his idea to try out the Falcon suit. "Jet Packs, Wilson. Actual winged jet packs," he said, trying to convince me over, looking like he stepped right into a sci-fi movie. Truth be told, it really wouldn't have taken much to get me to sign up for it. Have you seen those things? You might, today.

There's a lot to carry on your shoulders when you serve. I don't just mean that physically while being a pararescueman. There's joy out there when you find your men, and bring families back together but also a lot of heaviness when you can't. The most important thing is having someone to share that heaviness with you. My boy had a lot of friends.. we all carried the weight of his loss together that day, and some of us still do.

Here's to you, Riley. Thanks for being one hell of a trooper.

So, if there's one thing I think I'm starting to figure out, it's the the Universe I end up in doesn't really seem to matter. It's always busy and sure to be interesting.

I'm also thinking it's high time we assemble for something other than strange crises and world saving. Thinking I may head out on the town, find myself a table and something cold to drink. Company's more than welcome.

I would like to start a morning running group again. Who would be interested? Jaina, are you in?

Seriously darling, this is so much fun! Apparently people think they're in all sorts of places that they actually aren't.

For those of you who knew him, Christopher Pike is gone. I know he was here for a while and had a lot of friends so I got some of his things that were here in the Tower before anyone came to get them. You're welcome to come over and look to see if there's anything you'd like to have. I know he'd want people he cared about to have them.

It's snowing. But only in Brooklyn. Thankfully, I hadn't put away all my Winter stuff. I'm going to investigate.
