hello, i am veralidaine sarrasri, but i'm mostly called daine. it took a while but i think i understand what has happened. i do not understand this world though. it is strange and unusual. like this thing i am using comepuhter. with its webs and sights. mouse and clicking. buildings should nto be so tall. twenty five floors. too high up. unnatural. windows don't open. no fresh air. no way for animals to come in to visit. do not like the moving pictures much. the bathroom is interesting. the kitchen is confusing.

I've kept the secret of who I truly am for the past four years and to suddenly discover someone knew that I wasn't actually Alan came as a surprise. I suppose it might have happened eventually being told I was fictional I just didn't expect someone from my world to actually be here still it is reassuring.

If you're wondering my name is Alanna, not Alan and I've been pretending to be a boy for the past four years to learn to be a Knight as women aren't allowed to train and I didn't want to learn to be a lady.

I bought a lot in case anyone wants to try some. The shopkeep asked me how could a girl eat so much bacon. I refrained from telling him I used to be able to eat two cows easy.

Maybe sailing this weekend?

So, back home I used to eat meat. Even after I found I could communicate with animals I continued. I was a predator, just like many of my animal friends, and I didn't waste any kills. Things started to change when I learned how to turn into animals. Once I was being hunted in the skin of a creature I couldn't bring myself to eat their flesh. So, I was down to the basics. Chicken, beef, a lot of the more common meats I can find in the supermarkets here.

Recently I've been hearing about unsafe factory conditions and mistreatment of these animals and I'm really very concerned. I know there is a wealth of knowledge on the other end of my computer screen, but how much of it do I trust? Are the worst examples something that's par for the course when it comes to mass butchering in this world, or extreme cases just to shock the reader? I don't want to eat any meat if the animals are going to suffer like I'm afraid they might be. Even chickens don't deserve that.

I can't believe that it is nearly summertime. How hot does it get here in the summer? I grew up in Alaska and have spent the majority of my life in space so I'm not a fan of extreme heat. How bad is going to be?

I usually don't post things that I find on the internet or that people send me. This one though was particularly funny I thought so here you go. Maybe it will make someone laugh.

You know, travelling with the Doctor's not helping my credibility as a child care professional. I've had two uptight different families turn me down, and, let's face it, rightfully so, if the Doctor were even here. And if there was a way for me to travel in space and time.

I'll have to suffer with this retail position a little longer, it looks like.

I've been baking since early this morning, before the sun was up. I spent a lot of the funds they gave me on this but I think it's worth it. I'll be baking for the next several days as I get time. Would anyone like some of my mini pies?

Should I be worried about my orange juice containing gluten? What is gluten anyway?

Also my nuts are warning me they may contain nuts. Is this new in modern earth?

I don't see why shopping for dresses is so complicated. Suits for men come in exactly one style. But we have to worry about lilac versus lavender and princess versus a-line, and so many variations of cut and style that I don't know if I even see a difference anymore, except everything I try on I feel there's something better.

I can't be the only one bewildered by this prom thing, can I?

I saw someone today walking around with three pairs of skis. Having lived in a version of New York for much of my life, this is actually a first.

I've made some liver soup. And if I guess correctly, nobody's going to be very keen on joining me, right? That's perfectly fine with me, just as long as you know you're missing out on an Adamsa classic.

And after four years, I finally cut my hair. My neck feels very light.

I got a Netflix account the other day (because how else am I going to spend this money they seem to be insistent on throwing at me) and someone I mentioned that fact to recommended I look into Hemlock Grove.

Having just watched the trailer, I don't understand the appeal. I don't even know where to start. What are some GOOD things to watch?

In uncertain times such as these, it's at least comforting to know that I still lack the culinary finesse to even properly make a bit of toast.

I've been seeing a few mentions of it on the network, and I have to say that I'm really excited for it!

Think it would be easier if I knew more people. I wonder what's more awkward, asking a complete stranger to prom or asking someone you know. What do you guys think?

Also it looks like I have a lot of movies and shows to catch up on! Anyone have any suggestions?
