Sadie, Bast, can we get a trampoline?!!

If the answers yes, where could we find one? Do they have trampoline stores? If they do, can we go this weekend!?

Hey everyone!

I’m Kitty Pryde. With the unfortunate loss of Susan Sto Helit a few days ago, I talked to SHIELD about taking over for her at the Educational Services Division, or ESD from now on to make it easier. I’ve been teaching there on my off time, but I gave my two weeks notice to SHIELD to focus solely on this. She left behind impeccable records and I’m going to do my best to keep her vision alive.

I look forward to getting to know everyone in the division soon, but for right now I’m going to need basic facts to move from here. There needs to be some reorganization with the loss of students and teachers, so what I need is all of the teachers and advisors to sign in. Reply to this post to restate you still want to be involved. Advisors, I need you in particular to reply so we can talk about your current students and work load. This is also the place for any new people to offer their services if they have experience teaching. We have an amazing group of students here.

Also if anyone over eighteen wants to sign up for some of our advanced and creative courses, since boy do we have a lot of them, please feel free to do so.

Students I would appreciate replies here too to talk about your classes and advisors and any feedback you have right now. Feel free to filter anything you want to me if you don’t feel comfortable talking in public, and I’d be happy to meet with anyone privately too. I know this has to be a big collaborative effort and I’m looking forward to jumping into the deep end here.

I’m afraid I might be clogging up the network for people in the division over the next week as we work out the details, but I hope everyone can bear with me.

[ooc: there will be an ooc post after this with more depth, but please do reply with your characters officially IC here]

Today I was walking the streets of this city and many people kept staring at me. Others kept saying for me to Wax on, Wax Off. I smiled politely and nodded with them, but I was unsure what they meant.

However, I have visited many nice tea houses in a place called China Town. It is quite remarkable there, and they have afforded me a chance to sit back and learn their language. It is really quite... aggressive. Though one charming lady said that their taxi drivers in the home country use the language even more so when driving.

I am at a loss though with what to occupy my time with, especially to make money and to give back. Would anyone need a retired general and tea drinker to hire?

I finally found out what Avatar is and I'm not amused.

I am finding this place difficult to get used to. I am told there is a history class I can take, as well as an introduction to this culture.

I'm what is called a bender. I can manipulate the element of fire, as well as create and manipulate electricity.

I don't know where in this world I could get a job that would use, but not exploit, my abilities.

Even in my world, the exploitation of firebenders who can produce electricity is high

There must be others not from this planet who find it just as difficult as I am now. How did you cope with it?

Sir, if I may ask, how did you cope with the abrupt change in planets?

This is not home. Bolin is not here. Nobody is here

They told me this was the United States. I had never heard of such a place before, and indeed, no such place exists in the maps of where I'm from. The land is shaped differently here, and none of where I'm from is here. There is no Fire Nation, no Earth Kingdom, no Air Nomads, no Water Tribes, and no United Republic. I had hoped the United States was just another name given outside Republic City to the United Republic, but that isn't the case. This New York City isn't anything like Republic City. I don't quite understand these devices either.

I'm Mako, and I am very far from home. And Bolin is not here

I'm ... roomed with you. It looks better than a prison cell, at least.

We haven't had an actual conversation in a while, how are you?

I have heard of this new thing called Skittles Vodka, where you take the candy Skittles, and leave them in plain vodka for a few days and then you have Skittles-flavoured Vodka. It sounds ... both gross and interesting. Should I make up a batch for Saturday, or shall we stick with tried and true brandy?

I'd like to remind any new (and old) arrivals that I teach a cooking class for those unaccustomed to the methods here. We're a small bunch right now, but the more the merrier. I'm not a master chef, but I'll help anyone regardless of previous cooking skill level.

Worst thing about the city? No stars. A few planes and a whole lot of lights, but never a good view of what's out there.

I had my first guest yesterday. Mister Picard. It was a delight to have a tea drinker of his wisdom sharing a pot of tea.

This city is such a wonderful place. Full of life and adventure. Its smells are most impressive. Though some are not for the faint of heart. Or nose.

Now that my kitchen is fully stocked, I would love to host people in my apartment and learn their stories and worlds. And to introduce my love of tea to everyone.

I also have sadly discovered that there is no Pai Sho in this world. I have set about creating a table and pieces. I hope that when it is done, there are people interested in playing.

Network Post; Jean-Luc Picard

Captain's Log; Filter: Private )

I have now been here at Potts Tower for a little over two weeks and have found myself in several bewildering situations over the past few weeks. I have taken to wearing a hat when I exit the building as people otherwise tend to approach me and request a signature. A bit too much like Captain Picard Da

Fortunately I have found a place that supplies tea and it was simple enough to remind myself how to brew a cup without a replicator. There are occasionally benefits to having grown up mainly off the grid so to speak.

A very kind SHIELD woman taught me how to use this. It is quite fascinating, as we do not have anything like this at home. Though I think everyone would marvel at Ba Sing Se.

My name is Iroh and I am looking forward to all the tea here and making your acquaintance.

Hello, everyone. My name is Virginia Potts. I'm better known as (and answer to) the moniker that Tony gave me many years ago, Pepper.

I wanted to take a moment to welcome you all to the Refugee Network. Tony Stark - as well as many others - created the network so you would have a safe space to talk without the prying eyes of the media. I'd like to give them a warm thank you for their hard work.

Some of you have been here for a while, and as of today, the Tesseract has given us more refugees than it has in the previous five months, and it's still going. I'd like to take a moment to thank the hard-working men and women of S.H.I.E.L.D. for their diligence and perseverance. Without their quick thinking when refugees began to appear, this would have been nearly impossible for any one of us to handle.

And on that note, Director Fury has asked me to pass along the message that they are in dire need for Administrative Staff to help with processing. Anyone who is interested can pass on a note to your Housing Assistant.

Speaking of, there should be one Housing Assistant per two floors (and in one case, three floors). Should you require any assistance, they should be able to help you. Potts Tower is not a new building, but we have gutted it, given it an ARC reactor for clean energy, a full service gym in the basement, an outdoor patio and pool area, and an entertainment area. We plan to utilize all of these areas in the upcoming holiday season in the hopes that it helps alleviate some of the melancholy of being without your families.

Once again, welcome to the Refugee Network and Potts Tower, and I look forward to getting to know you.

-Virginia Potts
