FILTERED TO NORMANDY CREW:
Figured we might want to at least talk about this with everything that's happened...

Anyone planning on leaving the Tower?

Why Garrus, I never knew you had such an interest!

I will miss Captain Janeway. It is sad to learn of her leaving as I was enjoying getting to know her and her crew's history.

Would people be interested in discussing space exploration on a regular basis? I've been fascinated in what I've learned on my own, but it seems there are a lot of us who have varied experiences in space. I'd love the chance to just sit down and hear other people's stories.

Also, if anyone wants to read a first draft, I've finished the first two chapters of my Starfleet history which seem to remain consistent across universes.

I'm going to miss Mordin even more this time, as selfish as that sounds. I always respected and admired him, but I didn't know him personally very well. He was working frantically on the genophage and I was always busy keeping up with the broker agents or the scientists at the Crucible. There was downtime, sometimes, but both of us were very good at utilizing it for work, rather than relaxing. We did talk every so often. His work was fascinating and when Javik came aboard I was more than happy to share any knowledge of Prothean physiology I had. But when Tuchanka came and went, I felt for him, for Shepard's burden, but I kept to myself, because others had personal grief and mine was professional and more disconnected. There was a ripple that always made its way through the crew when we lost someone, but...

But here it was nice. Helping with his work gave me something to ground myself right away. And when Garrus and Tali have each other and Shepard and Ashley have found others here, Mordin was always fun to spend time with as the other odd one out.

I knew Kaidan so much more, but it's much harder to accept Mordin's absence knowing what happened in our world. Maybe there's another universe he'll make his impression on, other than this one. I can hope.

Now that things have settled a little bit, I thought I'd ask the question again: would anyone be interested in giving me piano lessons? I'd like to learn how to play and I'll be earning a regular salary to pay for them, now.

I have been sitting behind computer monitors for too long. Training is exhausting already. Or maybe it's just the timing.

I went to talk to Mordin last night and found an empty apartment. Checked in with SHIELD now and he's gone. I've been dreading this day since he got here, but I didn't realize it was going to feel worse than the first time.

Goddamn it, I can't Anyway, check in, will you? I sort of spaced it and didn't think to verify you were all still here while I had the chance. Trying not to panic. Doesn't look good on a soldier.

[Shield*]

We've had a massive increase in heat signatures around the country.

These bombs are human beings, and they're burning hot enough to vaporize anyone near by. Containment is our top priority to minimize civilian casualties. This is not a take the target alive mission. Take them down to prevent further damage.

Cell 3-Washington, DC (Multiple Signatures)
Cell 4-Boston
Cell 5-Chicago (Multiple Signatures)
Cell 6 and 10-Los Angeles- Trainee Carter, Blythe (Multiple Signatures)
Cell 7-Philadelphia
Cell 8- NYC (Multiple Signatures)- Trainee Bond

These people are extremely dangerous. You've all seen the damage that they've done in person. I want those with powers at the forefront and I'm working on getting you the support you need otherwise outside of the resources SHIELD has at its disposal. The people of these cities don't know they're counting on us but we're going to make sure they can. So handlers, keep us updated and show these idiots why we don't tolerate going after innocent targets.

*[OOC: SHIELD trainees can request assignment, they'll be assigned as needed]
[Filtered to Non-Shield Superheroes*]

There are people that have turned themselves into high powered bombs about to go off around the country. My agents are being sent in but this is bigger than just the attack on New York. I believe that you've all been sent here for a reason, whether you want to think it or not. People needed you back home and the people here need you now.

My agents are being sent out. Most of them have no powers to speak of but they do believe in protecting the civilians of this world. So I'm asking you for back up. I want to bring as many of them home as possible.

So far the hot spots we have are:
Washington, DC- Mercenary, Dr. Strange
Boston- Wolverine, Kitty Pryde
Chicago- Wasp, The Next Avenger Team
Los Angeles- Banshee, Rictor, Aqualad
NYC- Dark Devil, Spider family.
Philadelphia- Storm, Runaways
Detroit- Trainee T'soni
Houston- Starfire, Robin, Buttercup, Bubbles and Blossom possibly.
San Francisco- Avengers Academy
Las Vegas- Moody, Shacklebolt, Jason Todd, The Kanes, Trainee Tachi
Minneapolis- Frost, Phoenix, Spinnet
Denver- Castiel, Faith, Bennett, Kent.

*[OOC: Filter is a catch-all for heroes. However these are the extremis individuals. They vaporize normal people and some of them will be detonating. So having some kind of powers is preferred because, well, dead is not an agreeable state of being really.]
[Filtered Hill and Natasha (616)]

I've a signature in Detroit. We're going. Suit up.

[Normandy]
I hope things are going well for you who are away. Like we all stated on Ashley's entry - please stay safe. I've got a few more things to add to our network in the meantime, Tali. I'm glad we have the project to keep us busy, I'd be even more restless if it weren't for the fifty monitors in your apartment.

As for news, I think we all stand on the same front there so I'll leave it be. I will say, though, that I've been accepted into training for becoming a SHIELD Handler. I start on the 17th, and I'm looking forward to dusting off my 'interpersonal' skills. My only regret is I doubt I'll be able to order Shepard and Garrus around even once it's completed. Still, it's probably for the best. I don't think I could ever tell Shepard what to do and keep a straight face. Wish me luck.

Spending so much time indoors reminds me of the digs I used to go on where we would be underground for days. When I was younger, my team lead used to tease me about forgetting what the sun looked like, and I would pretend not to hear him and bury myself in my notes to distract myself from the idea. I don't think I'll ever take windows for granted, though.

Does anyone play the piano? I've dabbled, and I think I would like to learn. Is there a place nearby that I could look into signing up for private lessons? Or anyone willing to give them? I'd gladly pay for the services.

Heading out for a few days. I've left money if work has you needing to put DSJ in daycare. It's hidden very cleverly in the empty ice cream tub in the freezer.

All of you better be keeping yourselves safe through all this or I'll kick your asses myself.

Double for you Shepard.

More I think on this crazy guy on the TV, more I wish you still had something like Spectre status Skipper.

[info]purebiotic

Does that man from the television know that there is an immense tower full of individuals with supernatural powers, extreme intelligence and/or skill, as well as bravery and heroism?

Because if so, that broadcast seems ill-advised.
I don't have any personal connection to the events listed, as it's not my history to live by, but all cultures have blemishes in their past. From what I can tell, the majority of human society sees them as such, so I don't see what lesson he intends everyone to learn. Then again, hiding behind fanatic rhetoric has always been a part of terrorist threats, if that's what it was.

Hm. I guess some things are the same, even between universes. All the more reason to talk to SHIELD

[info]goodshepard

There go any 'I should get a pet that doesn't need an energy source' ideas I had. I'll stick with my mech dog, thanks.

[FILTERED TO FRIENDS]
I'm assuming I'd have heard by now if any of you were missing parts due to our not-so-fluffy-anymore infestation, but I had my hands a bit full, so let me know if I'm wrong.

Oh, and hey, anybody got plans in the works for a Fourth of July party already? If not, I'm thinking I might pull something together. Outdoors, plenty of food and activities. You can tell I've put a lot of thought into this, right? Don't worry, I'll sort out actual details fast if I do end up running with this idea.

Believe proper response is "Eureka." Combined efforts of Drs Banner, T'Soni, and self successful in attempts to develop cure for mutagen. Fond of color. Have positive results from 99% of test cases. Proud to say side effects minimal, no change of gender or ethnicity in results.

Am attempting to not confuse Commander Shepard with science. If interested in details, would be happy to discuss with like-minded individuals over celebratory alcoholic beverage made from malted grain.

Had almost a dozen of the weirdest, most annoying little bastards* come through the Tesseract last night. I imagine any of you can pull up my full report later today, since there's always a chance they'll come through again while another cell has cube duty. Short version, they weren't exactly dangerous, but they were working up to it. Their limbs are easily removed, which they enjoy doing to themselves, but they keep on going regardless. Separating them from their heads slows them down long enough to trap them. Fun times.
[FILTERED TO NORMANDY CREW + ADOPTEES]
Admin tells me Mordin reported his birthday as this Sunday (I'm nosy, deal with it). We should do something. Get out of the area maybe. Notice I'm not being secretive about this. I figured that would just end up a disaster.

Interested in whitewater rafting at all, Mordin? Garrus would have to wear a life vest, it'd be a blast.
[*OOC Note: Link is OOC, since he's never seen Labyrinth. ALSO, I'm pretty open on adoptees. Anyone that's fairly friendly with any of the crew can jump on this, but if you want to double check, you can email me at panicstrickyn@aol.com.]

Sorry for the radio silence; it's been dense work here. I think we've had some positive movements with this weekend's developments - we were able to isolate the mutating agent and identify where the replication errors are occurring. It's a classic IS, which explains where the human/animal hybrid markers are coming from. We ordinarily see this sort of thing in prokaryotic genomes, which is going to make for some exciting testing in the future. I think we're close, though; my colleagues here in the lab may have more to offer.

I must congratulate Captain Picard and his colleagues for an excellent talent show on Sunday. With that in mind, if anyone is willing to share, what are some of your talents? I'd like to get to know my fellow refuges if we are sticking around.

Well 2013, your coffee's a joke but I like what you did with your automobiles.

Going on a jaunt next weekend. Anyone interested in Blackbeard? His treasure's for the taking off of Nova Scotia, if you like your legends vague as all hell. Some bigwig's trying to unearth the money pit over at Oak Island; it's booby-trapped and deadly when the tide comes in. Six people didn't watch their fingers and left skeletons for us to find. Should be a good weekend.

I got hired last week and was told I could bring three people. Don't know any of you, but I've gotten to be chums with Google, so if you're interested in beating feet up to Nova Scotia for a treasure-hunting holiday, I can give you the basic information and forward your stats up to my guy if I like the look of you.

Goes without saying that we don't get to take samples from our findings, so don't even think about it.

Interesting note in Earth history, specifically United States, current location. Have studied Alliance records, June 3rd marks first United States spacewalk. Year 1965. Astronaut Edward White. Only forty-eight years ago. Humans are quick study, tend to leap ahead quickly. Often good results, often ... interesting results. Have thoroughly enjoyed time here.

Have decided time investment here worthwhile.

[Shepard]
Have been invited to wedding for two scientists at OsCorp. Believe one to be member of 'top secret' group, never seen on floor. May be nothing. May be something. Will proceed with caution.

Plan to write detective novel based on experience. Have enjoyed opportunity.
