When it came to Gilina Renaez, John's feelings were a little bit complicated. He loved Aeryn, there was absolutely no doubt about that. Those feelings didn't change that he had felt something for Gilina, though. Attraction, affection, the need to protect her. There was an extra helping of guilt thrown in there now, too, because in his own time and world, John had watched her die and it had been his fault. Having her here felt a little bit like he was being given a second chance to make things right. He wasn't sure yet if that was a good thing or not. John hadn't seen her post right away. He'd been working and hadn't been paying close attention to the network. When he did see it, though, he responded right away. He was glad she was here. Mostly. He wasn't stupid, he knew this was going to complicate matters. His relationship with Aeryn was still new and largely undefined. While he had no doubts as to how he felt, what he wanted with Aeryn, he knew that Gilina being here wasn't going to be easy on their relationship. John was stubborn and occasionally stupid, though, and knowing Aeryn wouldn't like it wasn't going to stop him from helping a friend. He considered Gilina that much, at least. He didn't have any lingering romantic feelings toward her, not really, but he had great affection for her as a friend. Not to mention gratitude for her part in helping to save Aeryn's life. Once he'd finished their conversation, John grabbed his things and made his way to the room number he'd gotten for Gilina. He was looking forward to seeing her and there was a smile on his face as he knocked on her door. |
