It's odd. I would do anything to keep big bird or little bird from ever having to take that last resort but I wouldn't feel as broken if baby bird came back and made my choice. I think I'd just try to help him understand the magnitude of the choice instead. To be honest I think sometimes the old man should make that choice and he doesn't.

All work and not enough play means I'm becoming a bit of a bore.

I'm an imaginary character on a television show, based on a set of movies, which are based on a set of books. And I've been taken to a universe in which Captain America and Iron man exist as real people and I've been interrogated by SHIELD to make sure I'm not completely crazy. Pepper Potts got a tower with her name on it and I'm supposed to live there with Harry Potter, Princess Leia, and about a hundred other characters. And I'm supposed to believe this isn't all an elaborate hallucination caused by my being lobotomized.

Have I got that about right?

After all these damn years, the full moons still sneak up on me now and then. I meant to ask this before yesterday, but I was too scatter-brained to remember. Are there any other shifters around? Werewolves? Were-anythings? Hard to keep track of all the new folks sometimes and I'm trying not to sme, but it'd be good to know if there are others. Everyone, please welcome Daphne. She's going to be helping out in the kitchen, and she's deaf, so if you're talking to her, look right at her and enunciate real well so she can read your lips. She's not ignoring you if she doesn't respond to something you've said, so don't be a dick.

I am more shocked to be saying this but I can't wait till classes start back next week.

In less than six months, I'll have been here two whole years. It's a hell of a thing to think about when I'd never stayed in one place this long before I got to Bon Temps, and the way things are going here, I might beat my own record. Knock on wood. I'll be working on new recipes courtesy of Sif's Christmas gift to me, so there may be some new daily specials in the near future. You can thank her if it works out.

Lafayette left just recently, which I've been trying not to think about much. He wasn't that happy here, so it's all right, except there ain't much good to look forward to back in Bon Temps either, not for any of us. That's life.

Since it's been a while, I figured I'd take a second to mention that if you need a job, come talk to me down at the bar. Mostly looking for anyone 18 and up, so you can serve alcohol. Bartenders, servers, cooks. Some experience preferred, but some things are easier to pick up than others, so don't let that stop you from coming to talk to me about it.

And one more thing: new folks, if you hadn't heard, your first drink's on the house. Don't forget your ID.

One full weekend of holiday break and I'm finally really feeling the holiday spirit. It's much easier to be jolly and merry when there are no more final exams on the horizon.

That, and I've already gotten some very nice early gifts. Coffee and a flashlight from my Secret Santa, and a book full of anti-evil warding I've never seen before from the tesseract (technically, from the Men of Letters). Essentially, everything a hunter who's not actually hunting could possibly need. Thank you, Secret Santa. And thank you, tesseract.

I've checked off my own list of presents to buy, but not my list of people I was going to catch up with once I was on break. Tomorrow's wide open, so let's do something.

Best wishes to the hordes of you in Asgard, righting wrongs & ending tyrannies where-ever you go. Due to your efforts, earth is still in the clear and for that, you have my small (if not effusive) thanks. We haven't managed to bung it all up yet. You should come home to a relatively peaceful city.

The Tesseract has - however - in the absence of all our friends seen fit to bestow gifts upon us and as I am not qualified to speak on its ability to transport non-living objects, well, I shan't look a gift horse in the mouth. From small personal items to two copies of the TARDIS and a very fancy car, it's been a busy little doorway.

And it sent me something yesterday, too. I, in fact, received a certain briefcase as well as my father's favourite fountain pen. Capital gifts, Tesseract. My thanks to your intense look into my personal history.
