Can I just skip Mother's Day? Those that know my world will get why.

But on a happier note I'm going to toss the idea out there thanks to something Rory said: would there be interest or even a need for an on call fix it person within the Tower? I know with all the tech heads around there may not be a need but its my way of being and feeling useful beyond the yard. And if anyone does come to Morgan Salvage feel free to ask for me.

I woke up and I'M ME AGAIN! IT WORKED! IT'S OVER!

Now will people stop giving me weird looks?

[info]daretodobetter in [info]thedoorway

Well, that was enjoyable while it lasted.

All good things must come to an end.

[info]barton in [info]thedoorway

THIS SCREENING OF 17 AGAIN IS NOW OFFICIALLY OVER.

If something like this ever happens again, I'm going to shoot somebody.

(Unless it doesn't happen to me, in which case it will be hilarious, and I'm mostly okay with it.)

[info]lillies_ in [info]thedoorway

OH MY GOD.

CARMEN SANDIEGO IS HERE.

Please tell me someone else used to play her game at school on the computer even though the graphics sucked and you had to use a stupid almanac to find all the answers before the henchmen came and put you in jail? Someone? ANYONE?

Filter: Veronica Mars

Carmen. Sandiego. For real!

Heard it through the grapevine that you've managed to get into the NYPD. Is that true? What was the process like? I think it's something I'd like to do. Any advice?

[info]venomblast in [info]thedoorway

I would apologize to my colleague for all the innuendos and double entendre I said all while being 17 years old but.. I'm not even sorry.

Excuse me while I go FLY ACROSS THE CITY.

[info]labrat in [info]thedoorway

Okay. If I manage to pass my finals this semester with anything above a B+ (because wow, this has been either a rough or distracting semester), I'm going to treat myself. I'm thinking either a new jacket like this one )... because it's cute and I have nothing in green, or... something else. A new camera. Or a Kindle Fire. Surprising that I don't have one, but it's probably because I'm more partial to holding an actual book.

10 more days until I'm free for the term and counting down...

Hey, um.. about that conversation, I feel like I should apologize on his behalf, because it came off as, well, mean. The thing is, I wouldn't know how to explain to you why he's been like that.

Sooooo noticing that some people are turning back to normal now so I'm having my fingers crossed as I ask this: Are you back in your 20s again?

[info]shinytomato in [info]thedoorway

I got a short term job offer, turns out a casting person spotted me scaling the tower a few nights ago and he wants me for stunt work on a movie. Its only 2 weeks of filming but it just bought me some much needed time.

Going legit is scary enough. At least I can keep my inner thrill junkie happy for now.

[info]thecenturion in [info]thedoorway

Okay.

So I was talking to Howard the other day and he got me thinking about Comic Con. So, I figured I'd ring up the folks over at BBC America and ask if they'd be interested in, I don't know, having me. Twenty minutes later, I'm agreeing to a Doctor Who Q&A panel with Amy Which she doesn't actually know about yet.

I mean, we all get harassed by fan questions now and again, yeah? It's going to be nice to be paid for it -- and have a week-long vacation in San Diego. If anyone else wants to come with us to the panel, let me know and I'll pass the message along.

[Rose Tyler]
I know you've been hit a bit hard with Tesseract-Departs lately, so Amy and I wanted to know if you'd like to come out with us for dinner tomorrow? It's nothing fancy, just the Barking Dog on the Upper East Side -- but Anthony thinks you're just grand so we'd really love to have you.

That practitioner of magic whose skill lifted the age predicament has my particular - and most prolific - praise. I only hope that you are all much more careful in the future. As interesting as it was seeing what I would have looked like had I lived my allotted time, I don't particularly wish to repeat the experiment. Such as it was, I was getting very tired of looking at that face.

While I tried to remain as quiet and as unobtrusive as I could during the time as an older version of myself, I did observe the Winged Victory of Samothrace and wondered over how lucky the statue was to be headless. A hapless victory perhaps, without the countenance to prove it or the brains to guide it, but one which ascended all the same.

It isn't that I'm grateful.

It's just that I am so terribly grateful.

I never bothered to pay attention to Mother's Day before. I just did not fall in the category that needed to recognize it because the only mother I had ever had was a surrogate and she had died at my while bringing down the Facility. My aunt -- her sister -- had to leave the country so it was like I was never around them.

But this year, I was thinking of something different. This year, I was considering getting Wolverine a gift.

Seasons change. We change with them.

It is good that everyone appears to be returning to how they once were.

Scott, Kitty, and I went to investigate a lodge up in the Catskills this weekend. It is both more remote and less rustic than our last retreat and near a very clear lake. There is a town a thirty minute drive from the lodge. I do not know if it makes a difference, but this lodge has a hot tub.

We are planning another escape, as we are calling it, for the Weekend of 1 June, leaving in the late afternoon of the 31st and returning sometime on Sunday. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend for teambuilding, training exercises, and an atmosphere of camraderie. We are from different worlds and experiences, but there still remains a strong sense of kinship which we can and should work to build. You need not make your decisions now, but mark your calendars and let one of us know so we can begin plans for supplies most notably alcohol.

We are trying to acquire the pink bus again.

I look around my apartment, and I realise that it's mine. It would make my mother, my fiancee cry. No design, no style merely comfort. It's oddly comfortable. My fiancee was a interior decorator. My mother was concerned with style. To be honest I'm not sure if TJ would approve of my room either. He's better with style than me. I do want to know if there's a way to install a wet-bar up here though.

I've got a bit of a dry bar set up. Nothing like what I'm used to but it serves well enough. I really should learn to cook one of these days. At least I'm in New York with no cooking skills.

So I really don't get it, but Deathtrap has gotten like way into farmville. I wasn't sure he'd be into facebook but apparently he is. So clearly everyone should be his friend cause he's adorable.

I'm debating if I should get him a DS for like harvest moon or something or if I should just upload the program directly into his matrix for him to emulate on his own time. I mean really those claws weren't made for a touch screen, right?

People were talking about comic-con. I want to meet people who dress as me and my friends! It's like the closest I can get to having a cult here and I mean that is just kinda cool as long as they don't sacrificing people and shit cause, you know, that's bad. Especially if they do it in a boring fashion.

Always feels good to dig in and work hard on something physical all day, especially for a good cause and where there's no real thought required. But by the end of it, I remember I'm not in my twenties anymore. Which is basically a long winded way of saying "that's gonna hurt tomorrow".

Anyway, I'm glad the age mess seems to be sorted and I'm in a pretty good mood, so if anyone wants to come over, I'm thinking I'll order up some food and park my tired ass in front of the tv. A guy at work says I need to see Mystery Science Theater 3000. He's kind of an odd one though, so I'm not exactly sure what I'm setting myself up for.
