Hello, everyone! Next weekend the Youth Center will be returning to Hank's Pumpkintown, this time to pick pumpkins, and I would like to extend an invitation to you all to join us, if you so desire. We'll be leaving Potts Tower about 9 in the morning, and we'll be coming back around 5 or so. Please let me know so that I can keep a count of how many we'll have for the bus. :)

Tomorrow is Canada's Thanksgiving, and for me it's bittersweet. I'm thankful for so much -- the family and friends I have here, the friends who have become family, that I am healthy and safe and sound and alive at a very exciting time. In a little over a month and a half, I'll be celebrating my very first American Thanksgiving, and the only thing I know that I want to do is watch the Thanksgiving Day Parade. Is there usually a group put together to watch it on the parade route?

Today has truly felt like autumn has come to visit us, and while I love it, it also makes me miss Prince Edward Island even more. The air would be redolant with the scent of burning leaves, farmers will be bringing in the lasts of their harvests, and the home lights would be glowing at Green Gables, or the light house, or in my own little house of dreams. Tonight, I miss home.

I received a letter today. From Lord Anthony Baskerville. I am now convinced that anyone who goes by the name Anthony is not ever meant to be a kindred spirit, nor even a sympathetic one. (I don't count any Tony Stark in this generalization, for one simple reason: they are known as Tony and seem to be, overall, quite the sort of person I would ask over for tea. They, at least, are sympathetic and are not at all like the Anthonys of the world, who are all disagreeable.)

This man -- this Lord Baskerville -- had the NERVE to ACCUSE me of STEALING. And what did he accuse me of stealing, you may ask?

A DOG. I, Anne Shirley, am accused of stealing a greyhound from this person's establishment. And he names you all as "accomplices"! He even puts that word in quotations, just like that. "Accomplices". He CLAIMS that other guests of the Redfern heard a dog from MY ROOM the night we all stayed there.

He wants a reply. I promise, he will get one. OH YES. He will get one.

I think that it wouldn't be too far off the mark to say that my first day as a teacher in over one hundred years was a success. I think that I and my students will get along splendidly, although I do believe I got the feeling that my expectations for my students are a trifle more than modern students are used to. Luckily, I also believe that my students will surpass these expectations by leaps and bounds. I'm looking foward to this school year.

This is a bit late and Mulder has already got in before me but I've been far too distracted to really do anything until now. As you may know, the tesseract brought our son William through to us. I think I can forgive it for anything that it has done to Mulder and I in the past or will do in the future for that one gift alone.

And as much as I'm enjoying being a mother, I do need to return to my locum work until Mulder and I can sort out what we're going to do business-wise. I understand that the Youth Centre has a child care facility. Do you care for babies as well?

Also are you aware of anyone among the refugees who would be willing to act as William's carer if Mulder and I are called out of the city? Someone we can authorise to pick him up and look after him in our absence. I'm not entirely familiar with everyone here and while I can do an open post to the network, I thought I might ask the two of you first whether you know of anyone suitable.

With school starting up in a few weeks, it's that time of year to think about various clubs and other extracurriculars. I know that in many places, sports teams are popular, but I have never really been one to enter into that sort of thing. A few months ago I agreed to be advisor for a baking club, and sadly all but one very nearly all of our members have returned to their homes.

If you're interested in learning to bake, please join us! Breads, cookies, cake, even pastries -- you take home what you bake.

I also need some student volunteers to help with the variety show. Erin was doing a wonderful job, but she's no longer here, and so there are some shoes to fill.

And I really must say that it's really wonderful to no longer be scarlet and furry.

I feel like I'm supposed to learn a lesson about not going to carnivals and festivals and the like, by myself. I did pick up some really interesting and pretty jewelry, though. It just clashes horrifically with my actually-red fur. I am never, ever again complaining about my hair. Ever.
