Well. Well, well, well. Isn't all of this terribly interesting? It isn't every day that you get to experience an alternate universe. I'm sure this will be a grand adventure.

They said I should introduce myself on this strange contraption. I am Albus Dumbledore and at home I am the Transfiguration teacher at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry and I also have the honour of being the Head of Gryffindor House and the Deputy Headmaster to Armando Dippet. It's all quite a mouthful, isn't it?

I really also must take the time to thank the medical staff at SHIELD. I daresay I gave them quite a fright by collapsing but they whipped me back into rather decent shape in no time and all without the scolding that I normally get when I have been a mite foolish with my health.

I'm still skeptical, but if this actually turns out to be Amelia's plane, it's amazing. I've never bought into the spy-theorists, knowing full well that even a pilot as fantastic as Earhart can come across mechanical issues and end up stranded or crashing.

And apparently I have good timing, because just this morning I put a down payment on something I've been saving for since I arrived:

A 1941 Aeronca Chief. She needs a rebuilt engine and a paint job, and I still have to have her moved to a warehouse here so I can actually work on her, but at least now I have something to fiddle with when I can't sl on my downtime.

And if I get sent back, you guys better take damn good care of her.

CHOCOLATE COVERED BACON!

I bought a lot in case anyone wants to try some. The shopkeep asked me how could a girl eat so much bacon. I refrained from telling him I used to be able to eat two cows easy.

So, Martha's Birthday is this weekend and Mickey and I were thinking we ought to throw her a proper surprise party.

Saturday, 1 June at 8pm at The Churchhill

Martha thinks it's just dinner with a few friends, but I've rented a room so we can throw her a proper bash. A girl only turns thirty once, so let's make this a good one for her.

First off I've been pregaming for the weekend since Wednesday-ish so coherency may vary. With that being said -

I've been sitting on this for a while so I thought it was time for my poll the audience option. Dr. Strange among other very gifted doctor-types have been working on my case (apply now to be considered for the Dream Team) and he gave me a... thing. That's supposed to help.

Supposed to wear this before I go into chemo. Thoughts?

You can say tumor but no mention of the C word is allowed in this post.

[Starfleet - all incarnations]
Seems with all these new arrivals, we should have another get together. Are people free this weekend or next?

I've had the idea - which may be improbable - that we might be able to ask Stark Industries to develop a space program of their own. Non-military, exploration only.

Luca is almost five weeks old now. The baby doctor said that he is right on target for weight and all of those other things that are important. I wish Prim was here to It's reassuring to hear since I still don't think I know what I'm doing most of the time. Does being a parent ever get to a point where you feel like you're doing it right or do you just always guess and hope you're doing the right thing for your childbecause I sometimes feel like I might be totally messing him up because I'm?

I don't think I'll ever get used to changing diapers though. I'm used to the not sleeping all night thing but the diapers are totally different.

I've really been enjoying exploring New York! The city is so loud and everyone seems to always be on the move with important things to do and I feel like I'm probably out of place just gaping around. I've gotten more used to most of the sights, thoguh, so hopefully I don't stick out like a sore thumb too much anymore. Things will still take me off guard, though. It's so much more exciting to actually be on the streets than just reading about them.

I really want to see all of the different museums! I was able to go to one, the American Museum of Natural History, but looking on the internet shows that there are so many more. I also want to find the library. There's just so much to see!

Any suggestions on other things to see? I want to see everything that I can.

I'm rather glad I'm out of training and back using my brain where it's used to being. Having a whole metric ton of new memories really helps sort out things like what I'm damn good at. Even if there were a few life lessons involved I am not entirely in love with.

I don't think I realized just how hot New York could get, and it's not even summer yet.

I took the train up to the park and saw quite a few people with books and bags filled with books. Apparently there was a large book convention going on. It made me think I really should go to the library and see what's new.

Does anyone have any recommendations? It's been a long time since I read anything for pleasure.

It's amazing how boring a place can get when you're used to getting nearly blown up every week.

There is a bottle of Batard-Montrachet Grand Cru (Olivier Leflaive 2003) in the refrigerator. 2003 was a difficult year in Burgundy, due to the extremely hot, dry summer -- but this vineyard managed to pull through. So, you should appreciate it. Your dinner is also there, fresh couscous, chicken, etc.

It's official: I've tried the whole unemployed/unexpected vacation thing and it's definitely not for me. I guess this means that I'm actually going to have to get back in the saddle and find something to do.

Daytime television has actually gotten worse since I was in college. I did not think that was possible, but I clearly I was wrong. It's enough to make me contemplate crafting. Or running off to join the circus.

Quick someone distract me with sweet promises of danger.
