I've seen some pretty weird things, but this has got to be the weirdest thing that has ever happened to me. I suppose if vampires and weres and witches and all that are real, time travel shouldn't be much of a shock, but still. It's hard to believe this isn't all a dream.

Good day. We were beginning to reach an ending point in our preliminary discussion, so I've looped in Ms. Madeline Berry. She will be happy to answer your questions as much as she can. Please use this space to get a good history of the case.

An additional note: In the future, Ms. Berry was cured. One of her friends, Jennifer Takeda (code name: "Hazmat") who took the cure as well has graciously offered to help however she can. It appears that she had to take the cure's "antidote" and now the original cure will no longer work on her. I will be taking samples from Ms. Takeda as soon as possible and will report back on my findings.

Sometimes you just need a day to relax and collect your thoughts. I forgot how much I loved the sea, although it is nothing like the sea back home. Here it is... so.. different.

I have been mulling over memories from home, lately. I have found of all the things I miss, I miss my family most but then I miss the Shadow Game. Back home Amber and Chaos are true worlds while the rest of the areas are what are called Shadows - reflections and distortions of Amber or Chaos. That's not to say they aren't real, they ARE, just - it's hard to describe. But back home we can influence the world around us. If I want to have the flowers grow neon orange, I focus on it and change it.

The Shadow game is a kind of game we played growing up, once we'd walked the Pattern and learned to control the stuff of Shadows. You would pass some obstruction — a scrawny tree, a stand of stone — and have the sky be different from one side to the other. It was a game of control and talent and I miss it dearly. I cannot influence the stuff of this world - perhaps because my connection to the Pattern is limited. I kind of miss the games of my childhood now that I cannot play them.

There's something different about the carpets in our hallway this morning. I may be in the minority here, but I like it.

My favorite Earth holiday is soon upon us. While I will engage in no conversations of religion, I have come to appreciate cultural celebrations of all sorts. Especially those that largely consist of drinking vast amounts of alcohol, dancing in the streets, getting in fights, and pinching someone not dressed in green. It is an enjoyment like no other.

Aye, I am aware there is a great deal more to the culture of the people this day celebrates and to those of you who hail from Ireland, please know I mean no slight.

Now, who will I count among friends and extended family for drinks come this weekend?

So, today is March 14, which only means one thing: PIE! I don't want to step on your toes because your pies are wonderful, Ned, and if you really want a good pie you should go see him, but I've pulled a few dozen pie recipes off the internet and have enough eggs and flour and supplies and pre-made crusts to make a bunch of them! And I think I'll make chicken pot pie for dinner tonight because we had pizza pie and cheesecake earlier this week, but cheesecake doesn't count because it's a cake. Silly cake! Trying to be pie but it just isn't, bless it's little heart.

So! Who wants pie!?! I also have some strawberry sunrise muffins that just came out of the oven that make for an excellent brunch, and Lucy, I found a recipe for homemade mice treats that I want to try, and Bucky and Steve, I have a few leftover cakepops in case you want them! OH! And Elena, Humberto, Steph, and Alicia, I have a pan of brownies that you all are welcome to share! Clint, I made you those cookies! Peeta, I found a strawberry cake recipe that looks divine if you want a look.

Where I came from, reading was a luxury that not everyone was afforded. Books were sometimes rarer than food and if I had one, I'd have burnt it to keep warm -- that's the way a government does.

There are a small group of us who are working at one of the various branches of the New York Public Library and we were wondering if anyone else out there is working at NYPL that we'd missed in the flurry of activity is this network.

oh my god my head

There's nothing like staying up half the night with good friends, talking and laughing and just relaxing. This is what we were missing at Avengers Academy. Too much saving the world, not enough just plain having fun. I don't think that's something Pym or Quicksilver would have understood if I'd tried to suggest it. Their idea of team bonding was always more practice fights.

Wednesday night might not have been the best choice, but I don't like having regrets.

Seems quite a few of here have a war or two behind us. Now, I know things might be different for some folks, that their wars ain't ours, but I don't think that ought to matter a bit. I think what's important, if anything, is that we've a place. Maybe to talk, maybe to not, but certainly a place for all of us to get on together with those shared experiences, be them bad or worse.

So I'm supposing I'm proposing a veterans club, maybe find a nice smoking room that'll put us up monthly like.

Sorry if I've been distant this week - been working too hard I think trying to study for entry exams, and stuff, and dancing. I'm beginning to think culinary school is going to kill me. In other news, I made cookies and they came out well?

I think - I'm actually bored tonight. Which is a rarity. Normally I find SOMETHING to do. Blah - Thursday night blues?

Do many of you have children that are not here with you now? How do you survive without them? I find it difficult to reconcile my presence here with the desire I feel to be near my daughter. She is a woman grown, and wed now but some months ago and even so always my child no matter the years that pass us by.

I miss her. The light and life that is inside of her.

Itarillë she is called in Quenya and Idril in Sindarin. 'Sparkling brilliance' in both tongues. She's blonde, like her mother before her. She likes to go barefoot through all her journeys, though nevermore than when we lived near the sea.

I miss her wisdom and her laughter. I miss her happiness. In some profound way it was tied to my own. I think, perhaps, because I did everything I could to see her smile again after the death of her mother.

And truly, she fought hard to see me smile too.
