Thank you to everyone who gave me advice yesterday. I assume that you're right? I think perhaps this place makes it too easy to hope for things that are unrealistic.

I...found a part time job waitressing at a Greek restaurant not far from the tower. At least, I hope, I'll make some money that will be sorely needed.

You know what I love about New York City? Convenience. It's so convenient. Need a drink, there's a place that sells drinks. Hungry? So many choices. Want to see art? Plenty to see. I think my favorite thing are the salads at the delis here. 5 ingredients, protein and choice of greens for like seven bucks. And I can eat it in a park. A park, nestled among the highrises. It's just nice. And relaxing.

And I got to do something over the weekend I haven't done in awhile. I love working with wood. The smell. The feel. Just making something, repairing something....

I have been volunteered to make a Valentine's Day related dessert at Vervain, proving yet again that the kitchen staff have a bizarre sense of humour and very little sense of the appropriate. I was tempted to simple ignore the whole thing but that would hardly be professional. I mention this only because I have been experimenting today and need to offload the results. I am not really one for sweets and even if I were, I could hardly eat all of these:

They are Raspberry and White Chocolate Cheesecakes and I have a dozen of them. There is nothing wrong with them other than the edges being a touch ragged and messy because I used a cutter. I will cut the ones for the restaurant using magic. That will ensure they are far neater.
