And those SHIELD guys took my weapons, which I'm a bit pissed about, because I worked hard for those weapons and they were my favourites. Any chance I'm going to get them back?

I saw your interest in the Inauguration with Buffy Summers. If you'd like to take a class there, we have a house just a few blocks from the capitol and a private jet that could take a group down there. I've spoken with Tony, and he's agreed that it's a good idea.

Now, here's the downside. The jet, while a 737-800, has been fitted with a limited number of seats. Usually, those jets have over 150 seats in them, but ours only has 30, not including the stewardesses. The house, while rather large, only has 15 bedrooms, so I hope that people wouldn't mind doubling up or sleeping on the floor.

Here's the catch. I'll need go along with you, so that's one seat on the jet, and one bedroom less than you had before. This house was in Tony's family, so while he claims he's not nostalgic, it's still important to the Starks. So that being said, what do you think? Do you have 29 students you could take?

So I don't usually read those advisory things, but Rachel Elizabeth Dare's gone. Do we know anything about where people go when they disappear? Like, back home, or to a world of shrimp?

Being poked and prodded like I'm some damn lab rat was the worst addition to an all ready horrible day.

I don't think I'm ever going to figure out these ... farenheit to celcius conversions. Whenever I see something like it's 37 or 42º degrees I expect people to be outside complaining about the heat and dousing themselves in ice cream. But it's not that at all, is it?

Not that I can feel the difference, anyway. It's all the same to me.

This isn't an application, this is an inquiry. Given my reception here, I imagine it's safe to assume my reputation precedes me. With that in mind, I imagine it comes as no surprise to anyone that I might be interested in SHIELD.

However, my experience with American based security organisations (either private or government sanctioned) ... well, let's just say they haven't left me leaping for joy at the opportunity to sign up. No offence, but I'm still of that antiquated belief that it's what you do with your guns that counts, not the size of them.

That said, I would like to speak to someone about what work as a field agent for SHIELD might mean, and what I could expect. I understand as a refugee and 'civilian' I'm in no way entitled to this information, but I was hoping we could make some kind of arrangement given my job history.

Between school and schoolwork I don't get a lot of time to go out and do normal kid stuff. I've been looking forward to being normal, but even walking around New York is a challenge. Everyone knows who we are and wants an autograph or a picture with you. It's just easier staying inside and being so busy is as good an excuse as any.

I totally forgot there was another Mayan Apocalypse the other day. We didn't even party to celebrate it or anything. Oh well.

I went out today so I could get clothes and food and all that good stuff. After I dodged around the protesters and then got over the shock of how things have changed in fifty years, that is. Once away from the protesters, I was given a bit of a different reception. All positive which is more than can be said about, I think. However, the little excursion has left me with two questions that I'm hoping someone can enlighten me about:

This place and the people who live here are becoming more insufferable by the minute. What I would give to be back home in New Rome where my services are appreciated and I receive at least a bit of the respect I deserve.

Yes, yes, I am sure that there are some who are very sad that Rachel Dare went home today. I was actually growing rather fond of her myself, despite the fact that she claimed to be a prophet when she was only so in the Greek sense, ergo, not at all But to act as if I had something to do with it, or am somehow to blame for their loss is ridiculously immature. Of course, I suppose I should not be surprised at that.

At least being business manager at the Youth Center gives me something vaguely satisfying to do. I don't know what I'd do if I had a great deal of extra time in this place. Despite the enormous population of this city, I doubt more than two or three of the people here would be even a tiny bit worthwhile to get to know.

This whole athletic competition is swell and all, but it doesn’t even begin to touch on the true sport of kings. Competitive eating. The only sport I could ever medal in.

This seems like a lot of work for just driving a car. Let alone the fact I don't know whether or not my bloody drivers license is any good here. I should check how that works before I end up going the wrong way down a one-way.

So like back home I had this really sweet guitar, right?
