Heyyyyyy techy people; I need your help. My system needs a hard reboot and soooo I just need someone to monitor me and make sure I know all my presidents/how-many-fingers/which-Avenger-is-the-awesomest and all the usual stuff after I'm back. I've had Thrift Shop stuck in my head for the last four days and I'm going to go CRAZY if it keeps going on repeat (my memory memorizes everything, so it's been the song repeating and repeating and repeating and I had it out of my head for a LITTLE while and then I read Gert's entry about working in a thrift shop and it started up repeating again oh god help someone help).

For those of you who weren't here when we started this, we decided that we would use this time to hoard non-perishable goods in the event that we need to bolt (and bolt fast) from Stark and SHIELD's watch. I've got a spell saved up that will store this stuff nicely, and keep it from getting too heavy. Good work, everyone, who's contributed. Keep it coming! We're doing a great job.

I was thinking we might have a meeting tonight or tomorrow. I don't have anything on the agenda, but I wanted to get an idea where everyone is at. Mentally, job-wise, that sort of thing. I know some of us train with the Avengers kids but I thought it might be nice to do something with just us.

Only a few days until prom! And I'm way more excited about this one than I was about my real one (well, it was a Homecoming, but same diff, really). I've compiled the top prom hits for the last few decades, so rest assured, the tunes will be cheesy and horrible and wonderful, and it makes me a little sad that my first move at DJing's gonna be with this crap, but part of the fun is the bad music, right? I want all you people to sing along at full volume when "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" starts blazing, 'cause it's prom tradition. I managed to sing along at Homecoming and I was stuffed in a trashcan in the girl's bathroom at the time (before I got my powers, bros, so don't even try it).

I've got a couple of long stretches of music synced up so that I don't have to man the helm, 'cause I have a wicked date and I'm not going to strand her on the floor getting stepped on by Chase's left feet or whacked in the face by whatever dinosaur tail Berto's got going on (what goes with a tux, anyway?). I've taken about three showers this morning; all the visits to Pirate Bay makes my hardware feel pretty grungy. BUT, the music is done, and I think it's gonna be a good time.

I'd like to hire someone to catch me up. When I say "computers," I'm not talking about checking e-mail and surfing the web. If you don't know how to write a program, it's probably not going to work out between us. If you're one of those people that wants to bond with your clients on a spiritual level, it's definitely not going to work out between us. Great. I get sucked into an alternative reality, and it isn't even an interesting one. Same old SHIELD hijinks, some old self-righteous insistence on knowing what's "best" in these unpredictable situations. I think most of the advisors of the ESD have tried to check in with their students, but if you still have any questions or want to discuss your curriculum, please let me or your advisor know.

On the positive side, Victor Mancha approached me with a pretty great idea. Prom! I know a lot of people here never got to experience prom before, so this will be open to all ages. We'll be sponsoring the event, and it'll take place on May 18th. If anyone's new to the idea, prom is a traditional high school ritual where everyone dresses up for a formal dance. Victor also volunteered to DJ the event. Here's the wiki for prom if you want the background on it. I'll send out reminders again closer to the date! It'll be on the 13th floor and start around 7. Officially it will end by 11, but if people want to keep dancing a little later, I'm not going to stop them. Food and (non-alcoholic) beverages will be provided.

See, I was thinking that a lot of the young people here (and the not-so-young) missed out on a lot of the "big defining events" of their lives because of world saving and whatever. And while prom is totally stupid, I'm sorta mad that I didn't get to do it, you know? Prom is like... a rite of passage! Everyone should have to rent overly expensive formalwear and angst about their date and foul up the corsage and make the mistake of pity-dancing with someone to freakin' Stairway to Heaven before they realize that shit is 7 minutes long, right? So I'd like to put together a prom, maybe, but I don't know where to start and I don't know if the education people here were planning something or what so... hi.
