It has come to my attention this morning that one of the children at the Youth Centre has been exposed and contracted chickenpox. We weren't aware that the child had the virus, but anyone who has been to the Youth Centre within the last week may have been exposed. I would recommend that anyone experiencing symptoms to see your doctor to help ease your discomfort for the next week or so. The first notable physical symptoms are the telltale rash. However, there may be other symptoms you may dismiss before the rash shows up: fever, loss of appetite, headache, and general malaise.

I had chickenpox when I was younger, so I will offer myself as an aid to anyone who needs it. Soup, crackers, ice packs, whatever you need -- please let me know.

I do like all the sparkly lights and shiny things that are around the city right now. It makes it very pretty to look at. I do not like how cold this human body feels though.

I have been spending time, since running marathon, thinking about your proposal to Starfleet, to other people, and what you said. I have concerns. That is human, I think. But largest concern is speed. You spoke about going in steps. And I think first step would be materials, before we reach any technology you mentioned from our universe. Many of them haven't been invented yet. They will make waves, changes, just existing, without transporting or replicating. Seeing what happens then would be important. But if we are, as Russians first put it, on same page, then I would like to be involved.

I went out this morning - or tried to, but when I got off the lift there was this strange contraption. Every step you took was like jumping. And when you actually jumped, it was like flying - except you had little control over direction or speed or anything. It was so wonderful to be nearly weightless up in the air again, that I got very excited and started to smoke. Luckily I didn't set anything aflame, but I should certainly like to do it again. Can we make it a permanent fixture?

So stupid! I did not realize they would ask me that question. Have you seen it? It's all over youtube. They asked me if I liked anyone in Starfleet, after I said we were just friends. What do any of you make of New York Comic Con? I got asked to make an appearance, as me. I don't imagine they'll ask more awkward questions about me than whether Hikaru and I are dating or sleeping together. I can easily not comment on anyone else's romantic or sex life. It's not like that's what Star Fleet has navigators keep up to date on.

One month exactly until the New York Marathon. I'm in really good shape, and the weather's finally cooling down. This'll be easy after the triathlon. I might even try to win.

I really like teaching. Why didn't I think to do this when I first arrived?

I need to make some decisions about what I'm going to do here. One option is SHIELD. I could be a pilot with them, that seems like the obvious choice or I could be a field agent which could be interesting. Although being a pilot would let me do both. I just know that I'm getting bored doing nothing so it's time to get off my ass.

I also should seriously think about looking into another matter. That takes more guts than joining SHIELD though. Women baffle me.

I've now been here for eleven days and I still don't know why people keep asking me how to get to some white castle. Can someone please tell me where it is so they will leave me alone?

I was asked today whether I knew how to extract essential oils from various plants, which was a stupid question because any potion maker worth their salt knows how to process raw ingredients to obtain the particular form or quality they wish when it is not available any other way. This caused a great deal of excitement among a three of my colleagues and not a small amount of importuning on their part. Since they're not completely useless, I have agreed. It's hardly difficult and I do find it a pleasant diversion when more complex brewing is frustrating me.

Is there someone I can hire to get groceries for me?

Six months in this place and I am beginning to wonder if I will return to my own reality and time any time soon. I have begun to live as if I will not be as there are many here who have been here longer than I have been and perhaps I can do work within this century and reality that will bring something beneficial to this time.

While the memories of this place may not travel with us when we leave, as demonstrated in Kathryn Janeway's time here, removal, and return, our own memories are certainly accessible here and now. A recent altercation in Potts Tower has reminded me in a very visceral way of this reality. A hallucinogenic gas was pumped into the Tower and left many of us in a highly charged state where we were left with our deepest fears.

It has left me wondering what will happen if the Borg should come through the tesseract. Without the powers of their ship an individual drone might cause difficulty, but should be able to be taken down and perhaps returned to an individual rather than a member of the collective. This has given me reason to think if I ought to rethink my position regarding joining SHIELD.
