There was a panel featuring Lucy Liu and Jonny Lee Miller at NYCC today. For obvious reasons, I did not attend. But I did read a list of the proposed directions this season could possibly take, and get to listen to an actor talk about bringing my relationship with my father to the screen.

I can't not know. I can't not know what's going to happen. Or what has happened. It's the curse of being a detective, I suspect.

So like, are we decorating or what?

Do you think our past changes when they write new things into the works we're part of? That the tesseract can sort of update backwards?

I'm not sure if there's really any way to tell. Short of checking everything I've ever said for continuity.

I wonder, sometimes, when the show introduces parts of my life that I haven't thought about in years. If the reason I haven't thought about it is because it never came up, or because that information just wasn't in my head. If there are things about my life and my past that I genuinely didn't know before they were revealed on the air, or that I remember differently now than I did before. I know I'm not the same person I was when I arrived here. But I don't know how much of that is personal growth.

I guess that would be the distinction between a show that's a story about my life, and my life being story. Do they exist independently? And if not, which one determines the other?

Well, I was going to treat my colleague Matt to the Star Wars Shakespeare show tonight, but I can't seem to find him anywhere. Does anyone else want to be my date?

First, water on mars. Now, Twitter is laying off staff and scaling back. It's like as soon as we get a handle on something these days, it becomes irrelevant.

What are the kids even using these days. And isn't Taylor Swift so good at Instagram that the rest of us just shouldn't even try?
