It is always odd running into fans of the game I am from. Their questions range from insightful to intrusive to inane.

[Filtered to Cora & Alistair]
Have you seen anything about this new game that about our world that is coming out? I was asked a question about it yesterday when I was out. I did not even know about it.

The guys I work with are batshit insane. I was running the obstacle course in training yesterday and a bunch of them suddenly ran out wearing red shirts and bandannas and shit and started shooting at me. (Blanks, everyone. Relax. They were shooting blanks.) But talk about adrenaline rush to the max!

Then when I finished the course (in near record time - adrenaline will do that for you), one of them launched into Vaas' 'definition of insanity' speech. It was freaking awesome. I mean, weird as shit and I'm probably going to have nightmares for a week but freaking awesome at the same time. These guys are nuts. I'm going to fit right in.

Do we have plans for Friday, or are we just going to wing it?

[Team Retroviral Hyperplasia*]
Hey everyone.

Now that you've all had time to go over the information that Stark sent out, it's time we set up a team meeting so that we're all on the same page. We'll share what we know and draft up a strategy so that we're utilizing everyone's strengths effectively moving forward.

I understand we've all got day jobs or at least other responsibilities, so what about an evening next week? We can even have it catered. Hit me with your food suggestions.

*Anyone interested in helping with the research for this plot.

With all of the animosity directed at me over the last few months from certain segments of the population, it's nice to have a reminder that not everyone falls for what the media - or HYDRA - has to say. I met a girl the other day, just turned six, and she was telling her friends about how she was going to be Captain America for Halloween. Things like that, meeting kids who look up to you no matter what, that means a lot to me.

I told her I was honored and I'd bet she'd be even better than me, and then she asked me if I'd go trick or treating with her and her friends. Their moms didn't seem to mind the idea, so I guess now I have to decide if I should. I probably shouldn't disappoint those kids. Any suggestions for a costume? I have one for later that evening, but I don't think the kids would get it.

This Friday night, Come As You Aren't to Fangtasia for a Halloween party that can send a shiver up your spine. It's your night to be a vampire or a werewolf, a queen or a time traveler, anything you wish to be. And for you, tower dwellers and refugees living elsewhere, it's free entry - no cover. Beyond the costume contest - and there are many categories from most authentic to most creative to scariest, best vampire, and more - there's a free drink if I cannot identify you through your costume when I see you there.

Dancing starts early on Friday at 8:30 pm, 21+. Anyone can come to the restaurant for a spooky meal, with a trick or treat at the end, as soon as 5 pm. Yours truly will be judging the costume contest, with the assistance of Hank McCoy, but we will not be participating in it. You can see who we will be when you arrive.

[Stick around after midnight at Fangtasia, for some extra plot coming. Details to be announced...]

I've gotten a few conflicting reports on whether or not dressing up for Halloween is for children only. What about adults? What about the arguably young-at-heart? Can somebody clear this up for me?

[Avengers, Nick Fury's A-Team (Filtered Separately)]
So there was a bit of dreadful business that unfolded last week that was rather unexpected. But it seemed as though the Avengers had some troubles of their own, so I didn't have the heart to mention it.

There was a regular at our club, a Captain Sergei Nik, as we called him. I've no sense at all whether he was a Captain or not, if we're all mingling with honesty in mind, but if any of you were to see him, could you see if he's all right? He hasn't seemed himself lately.

If you don't know what he looks like, he's hard to miss. Can't overlook him in a crowd, rather. Imagine the side of a barn with a mustache, and you'll be on the right wicket.

I don't think he's dangerous, really. Just verbose and enthusiastic. I'm sure he only waved a gun around in my club for the dramatic, as it were? But look sharp.

Hey, do you have a copy of that picture of Aunt Peggy and the Commandos during the War? The one from Paris? I was looking for Peggy's because she wanted it, but I can't seem to find it. I was going to check in the London house, but I don't want to leave her, and I thought if you have a copy, I could just make a copy of that for now.

They've apparently discovered what happened to Amelia Earhart's plane. I guess we've known for a long while now that she never made it to her destination, but it's still sad to find evidence of that. I guess I'd always had a little hope that they'd actually been abducted by aliens and brought to another planet, along with a bunch of other people from 1937. Like they said on Star Trek: Voyager.

I was approached by a few of the local dog shelters about holding an adoption event at the Barking Lot, probably sometime in December. I think it's a good idea, so if you're thinking about adopting a dog, this would be a great place to start. I'm also going to insert the fact that if you're adopting a pet for someone else for Christmas, thing really long and hard about your relationship and how you see it going. Pets are like children, you can't just adopt a dog and then because you break up decide to take it back to the shelter. It's cruel. You wouldn't treat a child that way, so why do it to an animal. So just think about that this year, if that's what you've got planned.

You know, I think I ought to apologise. I should have been better about your entire ordeal with the Scarecrow serum, Mother, and I couldn't be. And that's entirely my fault.

It was complicated for me to understand the unraveling of nerves, worries, concerns and troubles at the hands of some toxic agent, designed to pull one's mind apart and leave them the victim of their own worst imaginings -- and it's complicated for me to understand because I know fear.

I know fear so intimately that I could describe the taste. And it wasn't an illusion, it wasn't a trick of my own misgivings, not really. It was all far worse than that.

On the one hand, I guess since Central City doesn't exist, I have a pretty valid reason for being late to my job.

On the other hand, I don't know if I can actually wrap my mind around the fact that Central City doesn't exist here. ...at all.
