I think the worst of the vampire drama is behind us. I just want to get some alcohol - not from the bar - and sit around watching some romcoms and braiding each others hair. Girls night.

Almost two weeks incident free, knock on wood. Knocking on wood's actually kind of hard at Fangtasia. It's not a wood-heavy environment. Though boy-loving boys and boy-loving girls, no worry, plenty of male specimens come through the door. There've been fewer unknown vampires since then, and you can see me there, every night at some point.

How's Operation Re-Ensoulment going? I can totally spend some time on guard duty, make sure people can keep sleeping well at night. At least Angelus was consistent in going for Buffy, no matter how many times that doesn't work out how he wants. And you know, there's more to talk about, if we're in the clear.

I've been reading some of these papers about that guy for you. You didn't tell me it was a bunch of boring freud bull shit. Or if you did, you didn't phrase it quite like that, so I had no way of knowing.

There was only one time when I wasn't in London during May Day, and it was, in fact, only a few years ago. Lord and Lady Bridgerton held a house party -- not the one in which Cressida Twombly was delivered a delicious set down by Lord Bridgerton, for those of you familiar with the set of novels from which I am written -- and it took place over the May Day holiday. So of course, the house guests made the trek over to the village and took part in the festivities there, all of which were organized by the vicar and his wife, and Lady Bridgerton. So there were games and food, and dancing. And there was the absolutely necessary dance around the May pole.

I have lovely memories of that day. Isn't it funny how one can miss the people who made one's life interesting, without missing the circumstances, even if they were happy?

It's the beginning of a brand new month. Funny how that happens every thirty days or so. Really it's quite a strange thing going through it all in order. Anyway as your housing assistant, a job I hold in the highest respect with all due dignity and seriousness, I have presented a challenge to each of you in celebration of this new month.

On your door this morning there is a piece of paper with your name and a riddle on it. Bring it to me by the end of the day with the answer to said riddle and you will get a prize!

And no cheating. You'll still get a prize but that prize will be tainted with the knowledge that you cheated on a riddle from the doctor and that guilt will follow you for the rest of your days here. And no one wants that.

Should any other residents want to try their hand at my riddle game, I'm in room 1606.
