I was given the most marvellous gift by the students at my last lecture - a knitted beard! Apparently word has gotten around that I lack the beard that I sport in the books and movies and they felt I needed a replacement. I like it very much. It's attached to a nice woolly hat so it's lovely and warm.

Incidentally, for anyone who might be interested, I'm giving a lecture on Dark magic and its ethics and moralities at NYU on Monday afternoon. The lecturer has been kind enough to open it to the public since it is a subject of some interest.

Welcome to the life of a wanted traitor. I hope it's everything you've imagined it would be.

I have four safehouses that we are running active right now. One of which is holding the tesseract. If you're at that one, congratulations your location is a high priority target and you get to deal with refugees as they backsass the pamphlet that Sitwell spent an entire afternoon making. And I know how much all of you loved tesseract duty back at SHIELD.

Lead officers for the houses are as follows. Sitwell, Barton, Hill, or myself. One of us is at each location. You need something and it's not a stupid request, contact your lead officer because they know my network better than you do I can promise you that.

I don't do drugs, I haven't had anything to drink in a week at least, but there was vegetation growing from my pillows and stuff...so maybe? I mean...does anyone else see this? Do you all have some weird little Looney Tunes brand characterizations on your shoulders happening? Because maybe it was in some pollen or something? Maybe this is a large experiment and they're trying to see how long it takes us to realize we're not crazy by worrying that we are crazy.

Man. What the hell is with this weather? One day it's spring and the next its winter.

The Paris of my memories rose up from the ashes of a civil war that burned the city to the ground. In its place was a kingdom of lights, tech, and steel that glittered more brightly than any jewel in Europe. Everything was fresh, new, rising up from the gash of a wound on the landscape. And on the surface it was perfect, the very image of what the future could hold until one looked deeper and saw just how rotten it had become.

Paris as the poets and writers of old had seen her was just pictures in books. A city that has inspired so many, while it could never truly die, I had never seen the grand sights that haunted the dreams of poets and priests alike.

It looked nothing like my memories. Places shared names, shared the history of the ground, but little else in material or cosmetics. And yet it still seemed the closest to home that I have been since arriving here.

This Paris is quite the city. I would hope anyone else visiting would have as charming a traveling companion as mine, but she is of a singular charm.
