It sounds like a lot of people are upset right now and like another bunch of people have left, so... I guess I'd appreciate it if people sounded off here so I know you're not gone too and I just haven't noticed yet. I love you guys, even if I don't say it enough or at all.

I spent a couple hours in Central Park this afternoon, reading in the sun, and while it's no Los Angeles (I can already hear the native New Yorkers groaning about that, but come on, you don't have Venice Beach here and I was always meant to be a California girl with the sun on my back and the waves rippling under me as I try to see how far out over the ocean I can fly... you thought I was talking about surfing for a second, didn't you, Ken?) ... anyway, I really can't complain about the view:

I'm going back tomorrow, so if anyone wants to join me, you're all welcome to. We could make a picnic out of it. Bring some food and drinks and some blankets and I'll bring my speakers for my mp3 player and we'll just hang out. Maybe throw a frisbee around. They still do that here, right? I'd never say no to company, even when I'm supposed to be reading textbooks for class. Plus it's supposed to be 80 degrees and sunny! God willing. If you're in, let me know! We can meet up at 11 am or so and head on up.

Thor's daughter has departed. I do not know I ever fully considered her my daughter. The idea was too foreign of myself with a child, I did not raise her from a mewling babe. She was not a part of me. And they were bonded.

And yet I wonder what in that universe led to her birth. I have known Thor as long as I can remember, and for nearly as many years was certain someday he would want me by his side as a companion in more than battle. But he has his mortal now. And I cannot dislike her.

But if he cannot hold me dear in his heart, should I not find happiness somewhere else? However fleeting?

For those who have been following our quest, the Mortal Waldo has returned through the Tesseract. He put up a merry chase and we had nearly caught him when he returned to his own world. Thank you, Nick Fury, for allowing me the pleasure of pursuit.

So, unfortunately the PTYC has recently lost several staff members to Tesseract shenanigans, and we've reached a point where Emma and I can't pick up all the slack by ourselves. I just hate replacing them. That means we're hiring again:

Business Manager (full time)
Someone to oversee the budget, financial planning, fundraising, and accounting. You'll also work with the fundraising lead, Silena Beauregard, which you should definitely consider a bonus.

Recreation Lead (full time)
Responsible for planning and executing programs and events for fun and recreation (such as the monthly Mario Kart tournament, the Art Club, etc.) You'll work closely with our education coordinator, Emma Frost, on joint events and programs.

Staff (part time)
We're looking for two or three more people to work about 20 hours a week. Staff have the responsibility of talking with visitors, playing games with them, helping with homework, being Good Examples and helping as they can with anything else our visitors need, and acting as support for the program leads. This is great work for students, since you can flex the schedule around your classes.

If you're interested, comment here and we can set up an interview. I'm looking to hire fairly quickly so we can get back up to full staff and I can start eating and sleeping like a normal person again. Feel free to ask any questions you want about the center or the positions, too.

Would anyone be interested in accompanying me to the Central Park Zoo? I admit the idea of a zoo is foreign to me, but one that I think will be quite enjoyable. I have not heard of many of the animals I've read are exhibited there, nor the countries they come from. It might give me a chance to learn more about how the world has grown since I was originally on it.

Considering my love of literature and where I grew up this can be considered blasphemy. But I can't spend all my time reading. I can picture my father cringing in agony over this. Not to mention I feel as if I'm letting my years training with the Secret Service and Warehouse go to waste. I know Helena's visited this topic once or twice before but it's been on my mind the last few days. There are plenty of opportunities for someone with both of our expertise but most of those options require starting over. We're open to any ideas you may have.

We should strive to welcome change and challenges, because they are what help us grow. With out them we grow weak like the Eloi in comfort and security. We need to constantly be challenging ourselves in order to strengthen our character and increase our intelligence.

So I was at the museum today. Totally innocent, I mean really being at a museum is totally responsible. And I mean it's not exactly my fault that there wasn't anyone around and that the security guards are used to me so they don't see me as like a hooligan or something. Not that I spend a lot of time there. Just you know... time. So I was alone and I mean there's a lot of power in artifacts and I may have you know, accidentally opened a portal. Only I guess that artifact was like more powerful or something than I was expecting cause I mean really I was only aiming for getting back to the tower.

While I cannot discuss the details of this case, I would like to take a moment to say that this is Joan's first real case since she arrived here. She did most of the work, and it was almost entirely her observations that lead to the identification of the suspect. So I wanted to congratulate her for all her efforts, hard work and sharp skill. -- Truly, Joan, this case would not have been solved without you.
