Who: Stephen Maturin & Iskierka
When: Sunday evening
Where: Stephen's room
What: A very awkward sleep over.
Rating: PG. -- Started in GDocs, and probably updated when it's finished. (This is more or less the placeholder)
Iskierka knocked on Stephen's door. She'd brought chocolate - because everyone seemed to like chocolate and apparently bacon was as much a 'thank you for letting me sleep with you gift'. She bounced impatiently from one foot to another, her butt wiggling slightly as though she was still wagging her tail. She hadn't brought a bag because well, she didn't much see the need for pajamas - hopefully he wouldn't mind. When Stephen opened the door, she broke out in a grin. "Hi!" she said brightly, fighting the urge to throw her arms around her and rub her face against him. He’d told Jack that she was coming over to spend the night. It hadn’t been the easiest of conversations for him to have, and no matter how much he stressed what his intentions weren’t, Aubrey still had his own ideas. Maturin wasn’t even clear why he’d felt the need to tell Jack anything, because truthfully, he believed that his business was his own and he certainly wouldn’t nose his way into Jack’s intentions if he were to bring a young woman home (partially because they’d be astonishingly clear, but also because they both had the right to their own privacy. In a way, he wondered if the real person he was trying to convince of his intentions was not Aubrey at all -- but himself. “Hello Iskierka.” He smiled the moment he saw her. She was such a bright, sweet young lady that it was hard not to feel better around her, and he stepped aside quickly to let her enter. It was his plan to bring her right to his room to avoid any more awkward conversations with Aubrey (who was, at the moment, in his own bedroom) but he didn’t want to rush her their because he didn’t think that was all that appropriate either, even if he knew she’d be spending the night with him. "I brought chocolate!" she announced triumphantly, stepping into the apartment and holding out the chocolate - sea salt dark chocolate with caramel - to him. "I'm not sure if you're supposed to or not, but I like chocolate and most people like chocolate, so I thought it wouldn't be too bad an idea." She was babbling, but her eyes were darting around the apartment, taking in the differences between his and her own. Little differences in decor. "Thank you, for this. I-" she paused, sucking her lower lip between her teeth. "I get lonely sometimes." She wrapped her arms around herself, as though she was cold. "I've never been alone before. Not like this - there was always crew around or someone." |
