In an attempt to share Welsh culture with my partner, I recited this poem for Jack the other day. I wouldn't say it's exactly romantic, but I do think it amused him, crude though it may be.

Hello there. I'm Steve Jinks, and I've been here for three days now, so I'm a bit overdue to officially introduce myself.

My sister taught me that I've learned that food is a great way to meet people, so I'm on the 13th floor babysitting a large pot of what will, in just over three hours, be delicious chili. Anybody who wants a bowl can come by starting around 6:30.

It's completely vegetarian, but rich enough that not even the most carnivorous of carnivores I've met has complained about it.

Also, there will be tea, coffee, hot chocolate and various sodas. Anything stronger, you'll have to bring yourself.

It's Leena's recipe. At least I think it's Leena's recipe. Thank god we still have Google, right? At least, I remembered the cocoa powder and some of the other ingredients, and went from there.

The new Die Hard movie takes John McClane to Russia.

Okay, so my sisters totes showed me how to use this thing with voice-to-text. They said it was really hard to read the way I write or whatever. This is easier anyway and it's kind of perf because it's just like a video blog except no one can see my face. That last part is a bummer though because I'm sure the world could use some of the adorbs.

You know what the worst part about being here is? Kitty Bennet is all alone at home! I bet she's so scared and sad and lonely. I just want to give her a couple of scritches and let her know everything is going to be okay, but I can't. Poor Kitty cat. I miss her so much already.

It is strange to see Aragorn take the Paths of the Dead without the Dúnedain, and yet, had that been his fate, I do not believe he would have turned from it. Still, I do not wholly understand why the tale has been told in this manner. What benefit does it serve to remove Aragorn's kin from the recounting of the deeds done during the war?

Valentine's Day was fantastic - made a lovely dinner, had a lovely night. Couldn't have asked for a better day. I really enjoyed it and I hope all those I sent goodies to had a lovely day, as well! Thank you, again, Jason for helping make it so lovely!

Today has been another wonderful day - got up early, hit the gym, danced and visited the Library, signed up for a library card and came home with a couple good novels where I've spent the last four hours blissfully reading. I think this calls for a bowl of ice cream, and maybe a hot bath and more reading. I really do like having Saturdays back. Forgot how much I had missed them!

So apparently they put all that candy in the hearts on super sale right after Valentine's.

Which means I'm now incredibly hopped up on sugar, which is obviously awesome, and need something to do.

Something that isn't DT and me randomly hiding in places in the tower and popping out at passersby. But that is the fall back plan.

Last year Jocasta made me a birthday cake shaped like my sword. The year before that it was dads hammer. Though that one exploded everywhere because Pym did something with the candles, and I was picking cake out of my hair for ages.

I think tomorrow is going to be another one of those days where I really miss home, despite the condition it's in. Tessearct, for my birthday, I'd like Pym, Azari, Hawkeye and Tony. Thanks.
