I've been through more wormhole displaces than I can even count and I've still never encountered one with this many possible alternate realities in one place. I've also never been to a world quite like this one. Is there anyone that's been around for a while that wouldn't mind me picking their brain? Not literally, of course. Ha. I never thought 'dogwasher' would end up on my resume, but it's better than nothing. Actually, it's better than a lot of other jobs out there. I love dogs and I'll get to spend a lot of time around them. Probably smell like wet dog too though

Speaking of things I love, does anyone know if this building has a place to grow things? I haven't been up to the roof yet, but maybe there's a garden up there? I hear that's what New Yorkers do sometimes. I'm not sure where else I would be able to grow vegetables.

In all fairness, it was still summer in my world and my birthday was a few months off. I sort of feel like I cheated or that I'm not really eighteen. But I've been looking forward to turning eighteen (and then nineteen) long enough that I'm willing to take the opportunity to skip a few months.

Alright. I think maybe it's time to actively address this whole employment issue, since obviously we're not going home anytime soon-

It works very differently where I'm from, so if there's anyone from a similar society willing to help, I'd greatly appreciate it. I completed my education two years ago when I was 16, but it seems that schooling lasts longer in other places- including this one. I'm 18-19 (18 in my world which was about five months in the past, and 19 here), I've gone through extensive combat training and also trained others to harness similar skills, studied a great deal about the psychological effects of fear, and I also worked extensively with computers for about a year- programming, code-writing (and breaking), etc. I suppose some sort of job that employs any or all of these skills would be ideal, but I'm not really sure what those jobs would be. I have been trying to get a grasp of what the "job market" is like here (as evidenced by my use of the term "job market" since we don't really use it at home), but I feel like I could easily waste time that should be spent actually applying to jobs by doing that, when some of you might be able to offer advice.

Besides jobs applicable to those skills though, any suggestions for jobs that aren't completely mind-numbing are welcome.

I've also gotten the sense that in this world, most people my age go to college. Is that required, and if not, what are the benefits? It seems like most of the programs last for four years, and I hope we won't- I'm not sure I'll really be here for that long, so I don't know if there's much sense in that option.

I know that was really boring, so if anyone actually bothered to read it, I'll try to do something useful for you in return.

The Peter Blum Gallery in Chelsea showcases a variety of modern art in various media, including film, sculpture, and painting. Following the closing of its Soho Branch, it has been forced to expand its exhibitions so that the priceless art can remain on display to the public. An additional room upstairs houses rare pieces by such artists as Adrian Paci and Esther Kläs, and is available by appointment only.

The gallery's security system begins on the roof. CCTV records the exterior of the building from all angles, and cameras set up around the interior record all movement, all the time. There are two separate teams that guard the artwork - the first are those watching the cameras. The second are mixed in with the docents in plainclothes.

There are several ways to go about this without a partner, but all require impeding the cameras beforehand, which with planning can be made possible:

- Make an appointment with Lindsay Belby, who shows off the art in the upstairs room. Lindsay's clearance card opens and closes several doors; once swiped, you gain valuable seconds if you're running to lock the exits behind you. However, running's not my usual style, and hard to handle with a 50 pound frame.

- Get hired as a docent. Training and clearance are usually upwards of a month, but if you're patient, you're in. Work the angle. Be knowledgeable. Make friends with the plainclothes. Be seen with them. Be one of them. And then pose for one after 8:00pm when the museum goes on short-staff on Thursday evenings for the Late Night Art. The influx of tourists combined with fewer employees on hand means that when you say you're a plainclothes who forgot their clearance, the janitor believes you. Get in, mess with the cameras, get out.

- The Swiss Army defense: they were the ones who pulled the plug on the Soho address. There's all sorts of bad blood. Come in, be the big bad lease monster, and make like you're going to raise the lease sky-high over here, too, because rent-control is just a fairy tale. Cause a stir. Make them take you upstairs. And while they deliberate, grab Adrian Paci's sketchbook. It's on display in the shoddiest way ever: chained to the table with a chainlink (ha!) and a magnifying glass. That alone is worth $560,000.

The coffee pot wasn't necessary, but my compliments, to whomever is responsible, for the cleanliness of this place. My previous forced residence hadn't much to boast about in comparison.

Bedroom's nicer than the crew's quarters at least. Still don't know what the hell happened but shit, I've seen stranger.

Thanks to that fella known as Aquaman, I've been working on a site down in Brooklyn for Hurricane Sandy relief and whaddya say we all put our shoulder to the wheel? We ought to be able to get that building back in shape in a week flat. In fact, I say we can get four buildings done in four weeks.

I enjoin you to respectfully frak your 80 hours, SHIELD. I've got a helluva lot more time than that.
