The Doorway: a panfandom game

Okay, remind me why I want to own my own inn.... I mean, seriously. I've had some nasty customers, but this woman took the cake today. She wanted to book the hotel for an entire weekend, she's got a wedding here and she wanted to hold a bunch of rooms for some of her family and whatnot. I said, fine, we can do that. I asked her how many rooms she wanted, and how nice she wanted them to be, you know, things I have to know. So, she tells me that she wants some suites, and single rooms. She wants them all together if possible. I tell her that I can't give them to her all together, because some of the suites next to each other are already booked. But that I can still give them to her if she's willing to have them on adjoining floors. And she explodes at me, yells at me for 15 minutes about how I've ruined her wedding. She says that she and her fiancee already have a lot going against them since they're lesbians anyway, and she just wanted everything to be perfect.

She doesn't even let me respond, she hung up on me. I was like.... are you serious, lady? I just shook my head and moved on, I mean, I can't change anything if she's not willing to work with me. Sometimes.. wow.

So, I was channel surfing, and I found my own face. I'm still getting used to the fact that there are people who watch me on television. I mean, since I always wanted to quit my job and take Rory on tour and become the new Bangles, it's not so bad, it's just... wow.

So. In looking for something new to do, Jo and I will be teaching a weapons training class. We'll cover most common weapons, some less common, and unarmed self-defense against them. If you're interested, sign up through ESD.

And I'd say something about having my good name smeared for being criminal and dangerous, but-- well, it's true enough. And in the context of the class I'm teaching, I guess it might be a selling point. Rising Tide could stand to reexamine its priorities, though.

So, Castle's birthday is in a couple weeks and I'm going to need a little help getting him to his party - and on some of the planning. It's not as elaborate as what I did last year but, to be fair, he's not injured and stuck at home. Though we can make it elaborate, I need the distraction.

This is a bit last minute, but tomorrow is St. David's day, which is a bit like a national holiday in Wales. The Longbow is doing a bit of a celebration for it. I was hoping to get a group of people out there to join us in celebrating. You may even get to experience me singing in Welsh. There will be daffodils and Welsh vowels aplenty - I do hope you'll join us.

New York you haven't changed a bit! Well besides having super heroes and fictional people but the basics are still the same. I wonder if my acting studio is still here? Probably a different company but the building would probably still be the same. Of course going from being a hostage to being kidnapped by some strange alien device is an unusual day and not something I normally would expect. I live a normal life besides my son being a consultant for the NYPD and my granddaughter being a genius.

Now. Talking of my family I have been told I am living between the two of you since neither of you have rooms to spare. Expect me over or the two of you - Kate you are welcome too of course - can come over here.

Got a job yesterday at a bookstore. I foresee spending all my paychecks there. I also bought a Kindle off of Amazon the other day just for the convenience of cheap books all in one place. It is not the same as the holding a book and breathing in the smell of old books, but it will do for now as I build up a physical library.
