Because this game is massive, and even if every character just sent ONE package to anyone, it would end up being so many posts that it would overrun the game. So to save our friends lists from imploding, we the moderators are asking that you fill out this form and reply HERE. It'll make it easier to find (Control-F is a lovely thing!) and we won't have to abuse our scroll button. Here's how we're going to do it. The unexpected perils of combining small children and Christmas. William apparently has a burning desire to find out what everything tastes like. Which is fine when he decides to shove a handful of Christmas cake in his mouth, less so when he decides to see if tinsel is edible.

The other day someone asked me if I got any sleep now that I had William here, and I told them, well no, but it isn't as if that's a switch for me. Netflix is just more interesting than late night infomercials and mostly less risqué than porn.

It's far too late, but it is technically Thanksgiving and so I'm going to be a little introspective.

In December - a couple of weeks from today, I'll have been in this reality for 2 years. As any number of us can attest, being pulled from our own realities into a reality where characters we knew as comic book heroes are living, breathing human beings is disorienting. Sometimes we're given people from home, sometimes we aren't. Sometimes we're given people from home and we're out of sync - it's hard to make connections because of it.

But most of us here are survivors. We make new connections with people here, and we make friends, we find love -- as we would at home, perhaps with fewer obstacles than in our own reality, sometimes with different ones than what we would find in our own reality.

And some of us, we get really lucky here. We find the families we never have a chance to know at home. I'm one of those lucky ones with a intelligent, capable woman who truly gives me strength and courage every day and a son who I'll never have the opportunity to know at home, but who delights me every day. There have been times here that I've struggled, I've been depressed, or felt lost, but tonight, on the eve of this Thanksgiving and the eve of two years in this reality, I am grateful.

I realised today that we seem to be in a very pleasant lull of wide-spread tesseract related weirdness a la genderflipping and people being aged and deaged and so on. There have been some smaller things but nothing affecting large numbers of people. At least not that I've heard.

Of course, now that I've said that, I realise I've just jinxed us all. I apologise in advance.

I'm uncertain how good your reception is out there, but last night at about 9:50, there was a global peak in auroral activity extending nearly to the tropics and lasting for about 30 minutes.

There didn't seem to be a concurrent peak in global radiation. And I've been on and off the phone with ESA and NOAA all morning. But it looks as though there were reads we can get on this event. I'm hesitant to call it a Green Event just yet, though that's what they seem to be calling it in Sweden.

Still, I'll send what teams I can and we should have a full report ready upon your return.

In gathering information on last night's event there are a few observatories across the globe that I think we should consult on site with. I've had a very productive conversations and made arrangements at two such sites.

Harkness, you're taking Mulder, as well as agents Ibbott and Gaido to Pingelly Heights Observatory outside of Perth. Agent Shadi Mohammed will be taking Jones, Scully, & Musarrah Mohammed to Tromsø Geophysical Observatory in Norway. I have flight arrangements, and Op details at Command. Please proceed there ASAP.

Both Pingelly and Tromsø have affiliated recording sites and should be able to begin organizing exactly what occurred last night.

Mulder, I was thinking we should do something themed for Halloween. For you, me and William. He's a little young for trick or treating but there is the Halloween party here at the Tower.

So, in the little spare time that I have I've been looking into the traditions of Halloween and I have to say they are most intriguing.

Would anyone like to come carve pumpkins with me? I'm thinking that it could be an interesting experience.

I talked to Max about taking two afternoons a month off to give little science demonstrations and teach fun experiments to the kids at the Youth Centre. Anne Blythe is going to talk to the other co-coordinators about it.

I heard Anne got pretty tied up in that thing that went down in the pumpkin patch though, so I hope she's all right. I hope everyone is all right, actually. It's a good thing I didn't

But anyway, I know we're both pretty booked up with work and the RVHP consultations but, if you wanted to get climbed on by a room full of tiny children twice a month, you're more than welcome to come with me.

Scully, I'm getting this for William. He's seen it in the shop window and seems to be quite taken with it.

Everyone gets all obsessed with the pumpkin spice lattes, but really I just want pumpkin pie. Is it Thanksgiving yet?

I'm not sure I buy the 'end of the world nonsense' I've been hearing, but I can't say I much care for the potential ramifications of a world-wide white light either. Some of the news theories though? They're are out there even for me.

Soooooo... I stumbled upon some of my own fanfiction.  That... that was an experience.    Daryl's like my big brother, and he doesn't shower, and he's old, and he's kinda mean, and did I say OLD, and I would never  I figured rather than let this experience be negative, I should make a game out of it!  I present you, The Fanfiction Game!  The rules are simple.  All you do is write a starter and then another person can jump in and write silly stuff with you.  It's basically like that game where you continue the story back and forth!  Please play this, I don't wanna look dumb for suggesting this :)

This is a bit late and Mulder has already got in before me but I've been far too distracted to really do anything until now. As you may know, the tesseract brought our son William through to us. I think I can forgive it for anything that it has done to Mulder and I in the past or will do in the future for that one gift alone.

And as much as I'm enjoying being a mother, I do need to return to my locum work until Mulder and I can sort out what we're going to do business-wise. I understand that the Youth Centre has a child care facility. Do you care for babies as well?

Also are you aware of anyone among the refugees who would be willing to act as William's carer if Mulder and I are called out of the city? Someone we can authorise to pick him up and look after him in our absence. I'm not entirely familiar with everyone here and while I can do an open post to the network, I thought I might ask the two of you first whether you know of anyone suitable.
