So I was fixing to read something when this Tesseract pulled me through to this new New York and maybe it's got some relevance? The words sure are pretty, and it's kind of funny to think of Ithaca full of moths because Penelope was faithful:

Well I am so glad to be joining the working world once again, and starting to build up a wardrobe here. I tell that's probably the worst part about showing up out of the blue like this. Starting up from scratch. Not an easy thing to do, but not impossible. Not to mention all the new scents when I'm a wolf. That's probably an odd thing to talk about. Let's be open about the wolf business is still weird for me but sort of nice too.

So I was curious about these fairy tales I'm supposed to be from and I can't believe how many versions there are, but most of them are pretty similar. I think my favorite story though are by the Grimm brothers? Do people know that one? I can't believe how graphic it is for a children's story.

When I was growing up, Mum swore that ice cream could fix anything. And when I was ten, I was convinced she was right. After Hogwarts I wasn't so sure but it was good to try.

All of that aside, I'm going for ice cream in about half an hour or forty-five minutes. Who's in?

How's settling in, going for you? Today folks looked at me like I was the strangest person they seen in New York City. And most of them were wondering what kind of sex I'm having or were trying to imagine. It almost felt like home again. I don't think I've smiled so much in months. And I'm still in a good mood. So I'm calling it a good day.

After all these damn years, the full moons still sneak up on me now and then. I meant to ask this before yesterday, but I was too scatter-brained to remember. Are there any other shifters around? Werewolves? Were-anythings? Hard to keep track of all the new folks sometimes and I'm trying not to sme, but it'd be good to know if there are others. Not that I'm not enjoying break, but I'm definitely looking forward to getting back to class. There's only so many tv shows you can get caught up in and only so many tubes of pringles before your body starts crying for something more rigorous. At least I got to beat the new Zelda game over break, that was something productive, right?

Working the delivery service has been really great though! It's nice to be able to contribute so Jess doesn't have to buy groceries every week. When I go back home, I'll have to convince my dad to let me get a job, it's really not that bad.

In less than six months, I'll have been here two whole years. It's a hell of a thing to think about when I'd never stayed in one place this long before I got to Bon Temps, and the way things are going here, I might beat my own record. Knock on wood. I'll be working on new recipes courtesy of Sif's Christmas gift to me, so there may be some new daily specials in the near future. You can thank her if it works out.

Lafayette left just recently, which I've been trying not to think about much. He wasn't that happy here, so it's all right, except there ain't much good to look forward to back in Bon Temps either, not for any of us. That's life.

Since it's been a while, I figured I'd take a second to mention that if you need a job, come talk to me down at the bar. Mostly looking for anyone 18 and up, so you can serve alcohol. Bartenders, servers, cooks. Some experience preferred, but some things are easier to pick up than others, so don't let that stop you from coming to talk to me about it.

And one more thing: new folks, if you hadn't heard, your first drink's on the house. Don't forget your ID.

I have a hard time sleeping at night. I get psychic headaches that wake me up. Is there anyone here that keeps strange hours / doesn't sleep at all that would be interested in a late-night video game / checkers / chess tournament?
