Happy Christmas Adam.

Comes before Eve and isn't as satisfying.

To my Secret Santa - thank you, I appreciate the sentiment.

To anyone caught in that weirdness at Macy's - how are you?

To everyone else - happy holidays! If you need a lawyer for Christmas, Nelson and Murdock are offering reasonable holiday rates. Please be careful, and safe, this holiday season.

2015 christmas gifts

Who: The whole game!
When: Leading up to Christmas
Where: Under tree. Delivered with bows. Handed to a person. Whatever!
What: Christmas presents!
Rating: Who knows!

Because this game is massive, and even if every character just sent ONE package to anyone, it would end up being so many posts that it would overrun the game. So to save our friends lists from imploding, we the moderators are asking that you fill out this form and reply HERE. It'll make it easier to find (Control-F is a lovely thing!) and we won't have to abuse our scroll button.

Here's how we're going to do it. You will post for one character with everything that they got for their friends/family/etc. Make sure to tag your character and all the characters that yours gave gifts to as soon as you get their information up!

In recognition of the time it can take to determine IC gifts, (properly tagged) gifts can count as a piece of activity for the gifting character for the month of December.

I... went by Potts Tower to drop off some paperwork for a client, and I swear I saw a bunch of Muppets wandering around.

I think I need to limit myself to one - and only one - after work drink.

If any little elves out there would like to help me decorate the law offices, I might feel compelled by the holiday spirit to spring for pizza or subs.

If anyone is looking for a more fulfilling way to spend part of their Thanksgiving, I'll be helping to hand out meals as a local shelter and would appreciate some assistance.

Oh man am I glad that Nelson and Murdock aren't the kind of firm that would have to deal with the legal fallout of whatever that whole mess was.

...that wasn't very kind of me to say, was it?

Would anyone be interested in potentially interning at an up and coming law firm? I'm not sure I'd be able to pay you regularly, but the experience could be valuable. Also, I've been told I'm an easy-going boss.

Apologies to my students, I've been putting in extra hours at the office since we're short-handed, so my lesson this week on driving laws and studying for the driving test might end up being more of a classroom-based lesson than me taking you out to get experience.

Otherwise, I'm working on some fun stuff, I swear.

I could have made a killing as a butcher, but no, I had to go become a lawyer.

Hate to say it, but mom was probably right.

Well, I was going to treat my colleague Matt to the Star Wars Shakespeare show tonight, but I can't seem to find him anywhere. Does anyone else want to be my date?

The next time some well-intentioned moron tries to talk about how there's no racial disparity in the United States anymore, I'm just going to point out these two articles.

There are so many things I want to say about this, but I honestly don't have the energy to compose a proper rant beyond the sentiment expressed in the emoticon -_-

There's no excuse to teach children to be afraid of the people who've promised to educate and protect them. With the way the world is going, everyone could use a little more hope than they could any more fear.

[James Rogers]
Hey, kiddo. Do you want to join me in taking Koda for a walk? There's [...] something I wanted to talk to you about.

[Dorian Gray]
Think I've been spending more time at Tony's place than my own lately, but I figured it was high time to check in on you. How're you doing, Dorian?

With the departure of Captain Jack Harkness, his establishment, 'The Hub', has passed ownership to myself. While keeping with the 1940's era tea room theme, I've taken it upon myself to create a new menu, hire a handful of trustful employees to run the day to day business, and redecorate, keeping most of Captain Harkness' original photographs upon the walls. To help drum up business, I thought to hold a dance with live music, but I would be interested to know what people thought.

Would it be possible to get a headcount for anyone interested in the Modern Introduction to Law class? And an idea of whereabouts those of you intending to take the class are from? The information will help me plan my curriculum and tailor the lessons appropriately.

[Karen Page]
Did that sound teacherly, or lame?

I found an easy way to make sheet togas, two actually. The internet is really helpful when you don't know what something is. And google never gets tired of you talking to it. It even asks what I mean. I skipped over all the toga costumes that were already made because what's the fun in that? And they didn't look like they were made of sheets. And we already have sheets, so I can use those instead of spending money on a toga that's nothing more than a toga. Who else is excited?!
So far I'm signed up for Aircraft and Flight Procedures (hellooooo Captain Solo), American Sign Language (talking with hands), Microeconomics (they said we have to sign up for some of their kinds of classes), Modern Culture of This World (gif usage level 2?), Modern Introduction to Law (Hi Foggy! You said this is helpful), and Sword Combat (aka lightsaber, I mean, Obi-Wan Kenobi teaches it). That's only 13 credits, and they said to sign up for 15 - 18, so I need more.

What are other people taking? Did I miss an awesome class on the list? Ooooor does anyone think their class is so awesome I just have to take it? :)

I've offered to teach a class for the ESD, Modern Introduction to Law. It's basically an introduction to the government and how it works, the rights afforded to us by the US Constitution, and I'll explain any laws that people taking the classes are interested in. I think it might be helpful to newcomers, especially those from a different time and place, but I was wondering something.

What would people be interested in getting out of a class like that?

Also, would any police or law enforcement types be willing to help me out with a few lessons?
