The Doorway: a panfandom game

The only thing that's made this place bearable is the service that brings you food without making you talk to anyone. And last night that went belly-up. They took my money, I never got my supper, and when I tried to find out how I was supposed to complain, it said I had to call. What's the point?

House-elves might be awful to look at, but at least they don't just go and take the night off.

It's quite interesting to think about our existence here, isn't it? As I get acquainted with the books about my world, it's made sense of the life I had before coming here. The fact that so many things about my own life seems to all be direct references to my condition is of course no coincidence when one considers that it was all determined by an author. Several people in the series all have obvious connotations to their nature. It's either lazy or brilliant writing, depending on how you look at it.

But in knowing all of this, I've found myself wondering about our existence in this world. Inevitably, no matter what we do, our lives have never been our own to determine. Even now, living here, it's difficult to imagine we have any control over our own destinies given the path that's been given to us up to this point.

Take some advil, we'll keep the lights dimmed, but we lost Friday, and the weekend, so have some catchup to do.

Also, Tony, yesterday one of the things I seemed to recall was how to file for an IPO. We're obviously high risk, but our numbers are solid, and really with our record, lower risk than most start-ups we've had, and still high gain. I think we should consider if we're wanting to go public, and if not, a projected plan moving forward.

I'm sorry that I have not been in touch for the last several days. I suppose I have not known what to say.

Walter disappeared a few days ago. I had hoped that there might have been some misunderstanding, but I am now very confident that the tesseract has taken him.

I am not yet certain if I will choose to remain in the apartment, but I will let you know if I decide to relocate.

I think I've had enough Pride to last me at least the year. If not a lifetime. It was a blessing in disguise that it was so grey and drizzly. Good Lord. it was packed to the rafters, would've been absolutely miserable in 95 degree heat. I became far more intimately acquainted with the strangers near me than I should have liked. But I suppose that's part of the experience, isn't it?

You're a little late, Tesseract. But I'll still take this as a wedding present.

Which of your fancy Avenger friends ought I see about containing a werewolf? You know, since I tried the whole vampire thing for a while and it didn't work out - figured I should try batting for the other team.

At least the tea isn't too different here. That's a relief. If only I could say the same for the cakes.

We're back from the honeymoon. We'll be sending out proper thank you cards and gifts to those who attended the wedding within the next few days, but I did want to take a moment to thank you all. It was a beautiful day, and a beautiful ceremony, and it meant they absolute world to me that so many of my most-loved friends could be there as well. Although, I think Door's absence still stung just a little bit. She would have loved the colours...

While being beachside was a pleasant break, after all the insanity of wedding planning, I did miss New York. It really has become the city I call home, even when it's being loud and obnoxious. So I'm pleased to be back, and I hope we didn't miss anything terribly important.
