Isn't is strange the way we can see something we've seen a thousand times, or read something we've read before -- and suddenly, because of our circumstances or situation, what was familiar seems new and different. Any experience, even the most mundane, is never exactly the same twice, but sometimes it's so remarkably different it stands out as extraordinary.

I have been spending the time since my arrival familiarising myself with the technology of this time and with the history and 'pop culture' of both this country and the world in general. It has been fascinating to see where the lines of divergence lie between this universe and mine however I can safely - and with some satisfaction - say that while a man named Donald Trump may indeed have once existed on the Earth of my universe, he did not rise to such prominence there.

I don't really understand what the big debate is with the Starbucks cups. It's like, now that we can't talk about what's in them (Pumpkin Spice) all that's left to talk about are the cups themselves. But whatever. I like the red cups. They match my cape and the aesthetics of my tumblr.

Also Gingerbread is way better then Pumpkin Spice, so whatever.

What are you all thinking of doing? I don't have to go to their event, we can all have our own in my apartment, if you wish. Or obviously, you're free to do something without me, I just thought I'd put it out there.

But it's almost Thanksgiving and I was thinking maybe we should plan to do dinner, or something. Even if it's just take-away.

I think having the wedding be a destination wedding is the best decision I've come up with in some time. They handle the majority of the details and I have the final say on decisions, and everyone is happy.

I never thought that one of my biggest concerns would be figuring out which Santa to take my toddler to for his first picture with the character.

It's Gryffindor, for me. Which, probably the red and gold armour should have been my first clue.

There sure are a lot of holidays around here. I'd never heard of Halloween and that was fun. Thanksgiving is a new one on me too but I can kind of figure out what that ones about although I don't know the whole story. I know there's something called a turkey involved.
