The tomato has an illustrious place in the annals of the genetic engineering of food products, which is pretty much indisputably one of the great triumphs of modern biological sciences and nutrition. From the Flavr Savr (amusingly if perhaps ill-advisedly marketed under the imprimatur of the farmer who terrorized Peter Rabbit) to today's paper, unquestionably the coolest thing you'll read today, exploring the genetic mutation at the root of the modern (read: not grape-sized) version of the fruit we all know and love, it has a lot more going for it than its deliciousness and status as an excellent source of lycopene.

I, personally, look forward to avocados the size of soccer balls, and peaches capable of supplying an entire blender of daiquiris. The future is a beautiful place.

So. Now that I'm out of the food coma I've been in (awesome BBQ by the way, not that I'm surprised)I've been thinking. I sorta-kinda miss the private investigating gig. I know with all this tesseract business there's plenty to do to keep me busy but, what can I say, sleuthing is a good time. I've been thinking about re-opening the business and, considering my assorted cadre of awesome associates here, I think it might actually be more successful.

Thoughts? Potential job leads?

Apartment hunting is like shopping for jeans. I've come to hate both.

The subway lines are super confusing and sometimes it's like it's impossible to get off at your stop because of all the people getting on.

Basically for my whole life, until Chewie died, it was my Dad and Chewie. And it always felt weird for him to be here without Chewie, even though he's kinda been without Chewie for a while at home. And I don't know when you are here and you get memories, when you go back to? If you go back to when you first arrived here or not, but I hope you do, cause my Dad had a whole life with him and Chewie flying around in the Falcon when he got here, and I'd like to think he's going back to that.

But I'm going to miss him here.

i must say, it is terribly entertaining what this tesseract can do to people. yet i find myself ever so thankful when it chooses to pass me up sometimes -- although it having made me into the most beautiful woman was an experience i will not so soon forget. i suppose we must be thankful for such little joys this world affords us, no?
