Who: Dimitri Belikov and Rose Hathaway When: Wednesday morning Where: Potts Tower, Rose's room What: Rose has arrived! Dimitri is excited. Rose, maybe not so much. Status: Incomplete. Trigger Warning: discussion of kidnapping, violence, PTSD, addiction
It was a morning just like any other since he’d arrived. Dimitri woke, dressed, asked if Rose had appeared in the night. Usually after this, he ran until he felt tired and then spent the rest of the day looking around, trying to discreetly figure out whatever he could about this place.
Today, it was different. At 7:26 A.M., time stopped. “Yes. She’s already been processed.” Her room number - Not the same as his? Didn’t they ask her? - clattered around in his head as he took the stairs two at a time. She must not know he was here, they must not have told her. Dimitri had so much to tell her about this new place, he needed to make sure she was okay, he needed to see someone from home, Rose, who could confirm this wasn’t some insane coma dream.
He had hit his head pretty hard back in the cave, before the Tesseract sucked him in. He remembered tripping, maybe? It was kind of fuzzy, his memory of the moments between feeling relieved as he neared the mouth of the cave and saw the sun, and falling. Falling into that awful dream, where every color and sound was painfully vivid and he was unbearably hungry. But now he had an apartment in Potts Tower and the dangers here seemed pretty minimal, compared to his own world.
Perhaps it was eagerness to share this news that made Dimitri put a little more force than he should have behind his knock. “Roza, open the door.”
