I have officially been in this world for two years. Two years and I have been to more proms than I ever thought I'd be in without having ever gone to high school, and have experienced more uninterrupted Avengers parties here than I had back home. Can't say this place is better exactly, but it has its perks.

And if the portal decides to keep me here a little longer.. Jan, I need a sexy new outfit for New Year's. I'm ending 2014 on an awesome note.

I started out this year with friends from back home here and a great guy that I met who became my boyfriend and now, they all went back through the portal. I am done with this year.

For 2015, I'm going to hope for the impossible: poor ratings for my show that it never airs it again.

Oh and maybe try for some sort of chemistry internship.

It has been a hard year that has seen much loss, for me and for my home, but again I am struck by how grateful I am to be able to spend the holidays here, among people I love. And hard years make way for good ones. I believe that.

Let me see if I understand this right...

You celebrate events far in the past that nobody remembers. You celebrate a calendar determining the end of a year every year. You not only know exactly which day every baby was born on, but you celebrate the day of your birth and the days of other people's every. single. year.

I get why you'd honor the collective past-- that shapes today. But I don't get the arbitrary celebrations of everything that's ever occurred.

Then again, Patryns aren't exactly party people.

Semi-serious question for the natives around here:

How does having a church full of men not scare the ever-loving shit out of you? Ours went to crap even with women in charge, and every time a man puts on a big hat and calls himself "Father", things get on fire incredibly fast.

Second question:

This paper money thing. Why? Is there something I'm missing, but it seems as if your money literally grows on trees, and if that was a legitimate way to pay for things, I know a few elves who would wipe their asses with something different.
