Sam hasn't run away yet, so I guess this wedding is happening, and the bachelor party is on for Tuesday night. If Sammy wasn't a giant wuss, we'd be bar hopping and hanging out with so many strippers we forget what clothes look like, but he is, so we're stuck with him.

The guy's not picky. You all know that. He'll probably just want to hang out with a few beers and all his friends so he forgets to have cold feet about the day of. Don't dress up, is what I'm saying. Bring some stories about that one time he and Veronica were cute. If you know him at all, you know what a big deal this thing with Veronica is for him.

If any of you fucks this next week up for him, they will never find you. Just so you know.

I'm heading to Cas's for a bit. I'm all for third-wheeling, but I'm just in the way this week. I'll still be around, but you can have the nights to yourself until you head off.

I feel as if I ought to have been warned about this internet thing. It's like being back among the Orlesians at the masquerade ball at the Winter Palace though at least no one will pinch my backside No, this is worse than that. Maker, the pictures. And the stories. They're worse than anything Varric has ever written.

I've heard there is a place to spar here. I think I'm in dire need of that.

Thank you to everyone who's helped my daughter and I out since we got here. It's meant a lot to me to have people willing to help strangers like that. We're pretty lucky, all things considered.

How many people here have kids too? It'd be good for Hera to get to make some friends her age for a change.

It's a huge time difference to that part of Russia so we're going to arrive at night and enjoy the night life, woo! :D We'll leave when we're ready to leave or in time to get back for Sam's pre-wedding stuff, whichever comes first.

If anyone else for some reason just has a need to go to Russia, you can tag along, but I won't be responsible for getting you back.

Happy new year.

So I should probably look into getting a job or something since I'm here... I've got some nightclub experience and some Good Samaritan stuff under my belt.

Who would have thought naming something could be so hard. I still can't think of a good name for my puppy. Anyone have any ideas on how to figure out a name for a puppy?

You know, I'd decided that there really wasn't anything I could possibly want for Christmas, in terms of material possessions. All of my needs are taken care of, and more than that, I am able to afford many things that aren't needed but are wanted -- books, chocolates from the shop down the street. But it's people that I miss most of all, as I believe many of us do. Marilla and Matthew, Diana, Rachel Lynde, Gilbert... I also miss the children that I know I had, but haven't met yet. Sometimes I even miss Charlie Sloane, of all people -- but that's mostly to prove just how Sloaneish Sloanes can be. (Spoiler Alert: So, so very Sloaneish.)

None of those people have been brought here by the Tesseract, and that saddens me. But that sadness was eased, just a little, on Christmas Day when Walter brought me a gift that had been accidentally delivered to him. How well and fondly I remember Marilla wearing her amethyst brooch, and how mortifyingly well I remember the scrape I found myself in when Marilla accused me of stealing it. We both learned something that day, and several years later, on my wedding day, I pinned that same brooch onto her dress. I admired it all over again, and told her how well it looked on her. She told me that one day it would be mine -- and my very fervent wish was that that day would be very, very far into the future. How little I imagined how prophetic that wish would turn out to be! It came to me on Christmas Day, and amidst the laughter and the celebration with my loved ones here -- and yes, they are very deeply loved, all of them -- I had a piece of home with me.

This is belated, but nevertheless: Happy Christmas, Potts Tower. And may this new year bring with it peace, joy, and laughter.

As some of you are aware, Rose will be leaving us very soon. Her last day is Friday, so we'll be holding a small gathering for her at lunchtime Friday. We're having it catered by the Greek restaurant here in the Tower, so make sure you don't pack your lunch then!

Rose, thank you for being such a wonderful part of our team here. It's going to be very sad here a week tomorrow and you're not here with us.
