Okay, I need your expertise for a minute. It's coming upon the holidays, which is... a total Captain Obvious statement, but I was wondering if I asked Team Starling City about doing something, would I get a lot of sidestepping and people saying they're booked just to be nice about it? In my adult life, I've come to realize that the things I love don't always sync up with other people. That was a hard lesson to learn when it comes to what I like on my pizza.

I just thought that we're all away from home, so why not pull everyone together for something? And I might try hooking in my roommate because he might be the Grinch incarnate, and that guy needs holiday cheer ASAP.

Well. The last couple of days have been very interesting. The tesseract sent me quite a Christmas present. Thank goodness I had looked up what happens in my future or I'd have thought it was a joke. It sent me Fawkes. Who looked as confused as I was when he saw me. I think he was expecting me to be much older. But we seem to be getting used to each other.

Goodness. A phoenix. That's quite the present.

I have decided this movie they're making about my life is pretty much the biggest piece of shit ever. I can't really make up my mind if the fact that the person playing me actually looks nothing like me and that fact that there is a lot of ridiculousness in that trailer that has no resemblance to what actually happened makes it better or worse.

Either way, it's fucking ridiculous.

Came home from work to find out that the tesseract somehow got me a boxed set of the best book series ever. Now I'm just sad I won't get any new books of his - even though it always took forever for each book to come out.

Can't believe I hadn't posted about this 'fore now but I was sick. I didn't know the Tesseract sent Christams presents! This weekend I got my two favorite things from home. Besides Simon.

The holiday season is supposed to be full of joy, but somehow it always seems to end up stressing most of us out, doesn't it? And as refugees, I think we all know how difficult it can be to feel like celebrating when you're far from home or from someone you love. I'm lucky: most of my family is here with me. But that hasn't always been the case, and during my loneliest moments, what brought me solace was the companionship I found in the Tower. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could share that comfort -- not just with each other but with the rest of the city too? Our situation may be unique, but we're not the only ones who have felt alone or afraid or overwhelmed in this world.

So I'd like to invite each and every one of you (natives too!) to join me on Christmas Eve for a round of caroling in the park. No skill or experience necessary, just the desire to brighten someone's day with a song. Well, it might help if you know a lot of carols already, but I'll have songbooks available with music and lyrics. Most of them you can catch on pretty easily, anyway. I'll also bring plenty of hot cocoa to help keep us warm. :)

Please let me know if you're interested! We'll meet in the lobby at 3:30 PM so we have plenty of time to make it to Battery Park and back before it gets too dark out.

It's probably a bad sign that I'm not even surprised these people are complaining about this.

It's kind of crazy how many classes they offer here. I'm not super into school or anything, but I had a hard time deciding what electives to take. I finally ending up deciding on some classes for next semester, though:

And I guess getting to pick what classes I wanted to take was actually kind of cool. That kind of thing was always decided for me at home.

This is the time of year where I get to go through and answer Christmas advice. Today I got to answer a really cute one. This girl wanted to know how she could get her crush under the mistletoe so she could kiss him. I find that adorable.

It's so nice seeing kids running around and playing in the snow. And then coming home and doing some baking. The apartment smells amazing.
