Spent a very entertaining half hour this morning, listening as someone tried to explain to his girlfriend what exactly happened at the bachelor party last night. Me making His phone dying every now and again didn't help, but made it even more entertaining. He's definitely sleeping on the sofa for the next week.

Even with all the time I've spent in this realm I still cannot account for its fixation with pumpkins. You'd think no other crops came with your fall harvest, that you are driven to put them in your coffee.

Something strange has happened. Don't worry, it's not a bad strange thing. I've developed the ability to heal people. Or... to stop their pain, at least. I discovered it with Neal, but it worked on David too. They're both fine; Neal was teething and David cut himself shaving. The wound itself didn't go away, small as it was, but he couldn't feel it afterward.

Before I do anything about this, I want to talk to all of you. People on this network have mentioned "mutants" (not sure how I feel about that term) being persecuted in their home worlds. I don't ever want to take a path that might put our family in danger. If this is the kind of thing I should keep hidden, I will.

But I also don't want my ability to go to waste. I can ease people's suffering -- I'd be so selfish to keep that to myself. I thought maybe I could start volunteering again. The Clinic here employs healers, after all, so I imagine they'd understand the need for discretion.

Also, Regina, how would you feel about working with me? I can't tell if this is magic or something else, but I know I'd feel safer exploring it under your supervision. And you've been doing such great work with Emma. I'd be honored to be your student too.

So if my daughter hadn't understood that bloody ridiculous lift question, would we have got stuck on there all night?

Due to a lack of interest, the Archaeology course has been dropped, therefore I've been dropped as its teacher.

However, there was a need for someone to teach Latin. I have taken that on instead. Would the existing Latin students please come a little early or stay a little late after the next class so we can discuss your current progress?
