And does anyone know how to make this little picture disappear? Or how to set it to just some generic default icon?

I'm happy to find New York a much more inviting place to visit than I'd heard it was. My impression until today was that the threat of a nuclear strike would have been only slightly more upsetting than having to take the subway. It's dead pleasant, though.

I'm a little embarrassed to drop in amid this kind of kerfuffle, but I hope I'll be excused. My name's Peter. I've spent the afternoon watching the endless news in a place called Whitehall, where the staff has kept up an impressive indifference both to current events and to my comfort. Beneath the facade, however, there's a current of upset: when I asked the poor chap behind the bar for a Fitzgerald, he asked me what was in it. I think he must be sadly distressed. We're all sorted now, anyway.

At any rate, I thought I ought to say thanks for the undeniable (if strange) hospitality I've received, and to apologize to anyone with whom I might have been shortish when I arrived. I've been advised I need a holiday. I hope everyone comes out more or less intact; I'd rather not die in a place called Whitehall. Cheers.

As you all know, this week has been absolutely horrible for a lot of people. Mary Margaret touched on that last night, and she wrote so well that it feels almost ridiculous to do so again. But I want to echo her in saying that if there is anyone who needs a listening ear, I am available day or night.

Clara Oswald left a tremendous gap in the hearts and minds of everyone who is involved with the Potts Tower Youth Center, and we are all going to miss her. Mary Margaret and I have stepped in to fill some very large shoes as interim co-directors of the Youth Center. We hope to move forward and carry on in the spirit of loving guidance that Clara gave to the youth center. I'm pleased to say that Rose Tyler has taken over as Recreation Lead.

But we've got some gaps to fill. Right now, the youth center is in great need of a business manager, a hospitality lead, and and education lead, as well as full-time child care providers and regular staff members. If you are interested in any of these positions, please talk to myself and Mary Margaret here, or stop in to see us at the Youth Center.

We're continuing on with our grand plans -- tickets for the variety show benefiting the youth center are on sale and will be on sale until the minute the show starts, and we do have spots available if anyone would like to perform.

So last night was fun. I can see a gaming system in my future.

Hey, so my Pepper's birthday is this coming Wednesday and since she's a pretty good friend I think it'd be great to have a party for her. So on Saturday (that's the 16th for those of you who need to know things like that) there's going to be a pool party for her on the 13th floor. Only cool and awesome people can come to this, so I figure there will be a ton of people.

Cause she's Pepper, and she's awesome.

You all need to tell me what you want on your pizza so it can be ordered ahead of time.
