This tesseract thing has a weird idea about gifts. Either that or it's trying to tell me something. If it's the latter, I'm not sure I want to know why I suddenly need my body armor and my shotgun.

I was rounded up by the Youth Center to run an art activity for the kids next Wednesday. And I had this idea that maybe they could paint a mural on one the walls on the thirteenth floor's patio, by the pool? So I'm running that by you, and maybe asking if there are any other places you think would be better suited if that doesn't work.

I wasn't sure what to expect when they said I'd gotten something through the Tesseract. I'll admit, I was hoping for the Enterprise but I'm quite happy with what came through. Everyone, meet Tango. ( cut for image, unfiltered )

A bit younger than when I last remember him, but probably one of my favorite horse from my place in the Mojave. No matter where I hid the sugar cubes, he'd find them and he was a great partner for picnic lunches out in the Mojave. I'm looking forward to having him around again. Once of the downsides of a starship is that they don't often have room for horses.

I want to thank each and every one of you who came to the Tower Town Hall Meeting on Saturday. Caroline Forbes provided me with excellent notes of the meeting, the issues and questions raised, and I've spent quite a bit of time looking over them this past week. It seems that out of the meeting there were three themes that came to light, and there were a number of people who were willing to volunteer.

The first was focused on new arrivals, particularly for those who were from different worlds or times. The second were activities to continue to build and increase community, and the third was tower security.

There were a number of specifics underneath these, some more or less doable no doubt, but these three large categories give us a place in which to focus efforts for the time being.

If you were unable to attend and you have concerns about life in the tower please feel free to catch me in person, or leave a comment here. I believe the next step will be to put together a small group of volunteers who can begin organizing more specific aspects of the categories we'd like to address. Again - thank you for your assistance in helping us put these together.

How have the patrol schedules been working? I know that some of you were previously working for SHIELD and now are not - if you'd like more nights, let me know. I'm wondering as well if we ought not all sit down together at some point in the near future and discuss what we have been able to accomplish during patrols and the like? Would next Thursday afternoon be a possibility?

Apparently Dawn is not the only one being gifted with books from home. I've been given care of the annotated compilation by Watcher Alan Hemsworth of the Most Important Watcher's Diaries Entries covering c. 1754 - 1823. It's not a complete listing by any means, but it's more than we had before.

Oi, you lot. I've got a bit of home for all of you. The Tesseract gifted me today -- one of Honeyduke's box of chocolates. You know the one, where it's almost never-ending and lasts forever? Yeah, that one. Come 'round my place and I'll make sure you get a share. It's great, but you know, I do sort of wish that this box had a little bit of everything from the shop.

This is - regrettably - several weeks late, but it's important. I wanted to apologize, first and foremost, for what happened last month, both here and... well, everywhere else. We lost a lot of good people because of what happened, and many more lives were in danger. Yours included. It should have never gotten that far, and for that I'm sorry.

I'm grateful, too, to be part of this community here. I'm grateful to know how many people stood by me when HYDRA was attempting to take me down and persuade the American public that I've misled them. And I'm proud. I'm proud that this community stood up for yourselves, and for your freedoms. I can't promise that was the last time this world be threatened, and it would be disingenuous to pretend otherwise, but I know that together, we can all do great things. You've all proven that, time and time again.

Not that it is a weapon that is looked upon as terribly useful in this realm, but it has no equal. I have heard others talking on this network about swordplay as well, are there those who train?
