I know some of you have been expressing interest in training with individuals who you haven't had much of a chance to engage with previously. For the most part, you are responsible for seeking out those who you wish to learn from. You are Avengers, you're an ambitious group, and I'm sure it'll be no problem for any one of you to take the required initiative.

Wolverine, Wasp and this world's Black Widow have both stepped forward to offer some private training sessions. So if any of you would like to learn from these two, now is the time to speak up. They're both incredibly busy people, so I want you to show them nothing but respect and gratitude for granting this opportunity.

When you're finished whatever it is you're doing, you should know I've checked us in to Kennebunkport's Captain Lord, because it sounded promising. And because it promised a "luxurious yet comfortable" experience, and I don't know how you like your luxury, but I hate mine when it's uncomfortable.

I looked up unicorns here and, wow, most of the images I found are very... pretty and rainbowish. I mean, unicorns are beautiful. There's nothing more beautiful than a unicorn but they're kind of sarcastic and sort of annoying at times. And they're not all white. A lot of them are but they come in all sorts of colours as well.

And then I found the cover of the book I'm from. Yikes. Shalkan's a little bit bigger than what they have there, though that's basically a pretty good representation of him. I mean, he's not as big as Valdien but he was big enough that I could ride him without looking like an idiot. Unless he wanted me to look like an idiot. He's pony-sized. My hair was really not that long at that point and Jermayan and Valdien's armour did not have green feathers on it. Mine did. To match Shalkan's eyes. Because that's what elves do. I also look ridiculously heroic there and I really wasn't. I was confused and scared and barely trained but there was no one else who could do what I had to do.

It's nice to have employment again, and I'll be officially starting tomorrow. It's appropriate, as tomorrow is the youth night, so it'll be like jumping into the deepest end of a swimming hole. It's arts and crafts night, too. The younger children will be making Mother's Day cards, and the older ones will have the option of doing that an art project that I know nothing about: tie-dye? In any case, I've got a lot to look forward to. Next week I'll be mining for ideas from everyone -- themes, activities, everything that might be needed at the center. I do think that it would be wonderful to cultivate a library of our own, too.
