I guess I should take being assigned an advisor and having to sign up for classes as a sign that I really am stuck here, huh?

Not that being here is so bad, really. I mean, I've always kind of wanted to visit New York. There's a lot of cool stuff to do here, too.

Okay, that was not the fun kind of coma.

So what did I miss?

I have been to alternate universes where I am a woman, dead, a drunkard, a fool, never existed in the first place, an evil genius in the process of taking over the world (I quite enjoyed that one... my sister was less enthusiastic however) and married to two women and a man and between us we have thirteen children (always worthwhile knowing that I am a man of commendable vigour though I must admit the vision of America in that universe was decidedly disturbing). Not all at once, of course. However I believe this is the first time I have been to a universe where I and the others I know are fictional characters. It is delightfully interesting, though it does add an interesting wrinkle to the equations.

Just a reminder that tonight we'll be having our third meeting on the 13th floor for the Refugee Survivor group. You're welcome to come and share stories of your loved ones -- no matter how they left you. You're also welcome to come and listen, if you're not ready to share.

I enjoyed the trip to DC on Friday. For many history is only the events of lifetimes ago, but it is my experience that the history of a people can tell you a great deal about where that people are today. In this case, being in a world so much like my own, and yet also very different, learning that history is even more important in informing my place and my actions in this reality that has been for more than a year now my home.

I encourage anyone who has the opportunity to visit the Smithsonian, whether the exhibit on Captain America, or one of the others - such museums are an opportunity to understand the history of this place we currently call home.

Filter to Caroline Forbes

I'm afraid we're going to have to postpone our interview on Wednesday. I've been unexpectedly called out of town, and I won't return until late Wednesday, at the latest. If you don't mind, I'll be in touch when I'm back and we can set a new day and time?

It always takes me at least a month to fall back into the groove that is life in New York City, but it's always exhilarating, especially as spring progresses and turns into summer. This year I'm especially looking forward to the summer concerts in the park -- any park. My niece and nephew are getting old enough to really enjoy live music, and I'll get the chance to be the cool aunt.

So that's what it feels like to not watch yourself on television. I don't know exactly how this works, but I can't believe I was missing during that.
