Since arriving here, I've been hit with a realization that there is so much that I've missed in life due to how things were for me back home. Stuff to do, places to go and see, experiences to be had.. never got a chance to do much of them, and the one thing that stands out in the entire list I could make in my head is college. Which just seems strange and random but back in my world, college never once occurred to me because I was already working and was pretty busy to begin with.

Maybe it's the influence with my workplace being so close to Hunter College and getting a good number of students walking in for lattes and muffins, and overhearing a conversation or two about their coursework. I barely made it out of high school though, so not sure how I'd fare in university, but I guess if I had gotten here sooner, maybe, just a couple of years younger, I'd have given it a shot.

Meanwhile, what I do not miss: cold weather. Salt Lake City is 30 degrees warmer right now.

I was wondering when you might be free for a fairly intensive medical workup over the next 2-3 weeks. I'm reaching a point with my current research where it might be necessary to go into a human subject--namely myself in order to grow an adequate supply of antibodies. I've got the paperwork all but filled out, and lacking a medical officer.

I can get you the proposal should you like.

Commander Hand, I've included to update you on my research as last we spoke. I think I may have a strategy for neutralization of the X-2247 compound that was taken six or so weeks ago. I think there's promise to be held in my own rejection of the cure. It sounds slightly insane, and perhaps it is, but I intend to follow through with full medical supervision this time.

It's a special day, and not because it's St. Patrick's Day.

A couple years ago, if you'd asked me to describe where I'd be now, I never would have predicted this. I've said this before, but I consider myself extremely blessed to have met all of you. Since today is Sadie's birthday, it seems only right to spend a little time talking about her. Whenever something's happened, Sadie's been there, to offer a helping hand or to try to cheer me up. I remember not knowing what to think of her at first, and wanting to make sure she stayed out of trouble. I remember wanting to make sure she was safe. Turns out she's a heck of a lot stronger and more capable than I ever gave her credit for back then, and she never really needed me to protect her. In the year since, she's grown into a young woman I'm more proud of every day.

You'll have to forgive me for embarrassing you a little. Happy birthday.

You'd think it was the big thing that I'd be focusing on with this whole spontaneous gender switching. But nope. It's a whole bunch of little things I've noticed. Like what, you might ask? Well, I'm glad you did:

1. I haven't been asked to "smile" at all. Not even once.
   
2. People don't wolf whistle or yell after me.
   
3. No one randomly comes up to me and calls me sweetheart.
   
4. On that note, no one randomly comes up to me and tries talking to me.
   
5. I haven't been called a bitch once when I was giving orders.
   
6. No one sat next to me or bumped into me on the bus. "Accidentally."

Kinda nice actually. Usually I have to think about breaking fingers to get that kind of reaction, and then it's usually followed up with bitch.

I figured Luna wasn’t around when she missed her shifts at Widdershins. I was hoping to hold off on this, but if someone is looking to pick up a part-time position, and has knowledge in magic/witchcraft/paganism, I’m currently seeking a new employee.

Also, in regards to Widdershins, I’ve started working with the lovely Jill McKeever, creator of For Strange Women, and have added a small collection of her 100% organic and original perfumes (solid and liquid), oils, and bath items to the store. I’m so excited about these items; I never plan on wearing anything else now that I’ve found these beautiful and earthy scents. There will be a sale from 03/19 (when the display will go up) until 03/21 when all of FSW items will be 10% off.
