We'll that was a right ole time then. I'm glad I was able to help out in the defense of the House of Life. Quite remarkable place. Even though I think they had some charmed furniture. I'm pretty sure something wooden hit me from behind at one time. It was amazing to see so many different people and how they fought. Nothing like I had ever seen before.

Being able to help last night was the most useful I have felt in ages. The need to defend those in need does carry between time periods.

But I have to know just for my own peace of mind: I did not hit anyone with arrows that was not supposed to be hit?

But also, does someone who can dispose of that sort of thing want to come to the House of Life and take away these bodies? There are a few more than Philip needs. And they aren't properly embalmed. So they won't keep.

I have to say, I don't think I had to fill out so much paperwork for college and medical school combined. Including the financial aid stuff and all the applications for internships and my residency. I guess S.H.I.E.L.D. really does like having hard copies of everything.

Cramped fingers aside, the training isn't so bad. It's hardly a walk in the park, but it's really no worse than I expected. And it's nice to have something to do. I was starting to feel a little restless, with no job or real responsibility.

That said, I'm glad the weekend is nearly here. I'll be heading to Sam's for a drink or three this evening, if anyone cares to join me.

There's something tragically unfair about being kidnapped by a blue cube at the beginning of your summer vacation AND being brought through time so that you completely skip over said vacation. I mean, I was going to have a glorious three months away from school and I missed it!

But at least some of the classes they're offering here are kind of cool. And I am so, so glad to be in New York. I signed up for a technology class, because computers are really, really different here from what I'm used to.

Now I just need to find a JOB. My show budget demands it. I had this cool internship with Interview magazine back home, but obviously the people I worked for there don't actually exist here, so that might be a little awkward if I tried to go to work like normal.

There are a lot of pretty weird things about this place, but I think I'm just going to focus on the fact that I'm in NEW YORK, because that's pretty cool. I just need to figure out what to do with myself here, I guess. School's already started up for the semester, so I think it's pretty much too late to take classes at any of the colleges, especially since I'm assuming they won't just take my word for it that I finished high school. I guess that means I should get a job or something, because I definitely can't just sit around my apartment and do nothing.

I miss magic. I miss Jeremy. I miss my dad. I need something to take my mind off of things.

Anyone know of any place that's hiring? I don't really have much experience, because I've never really had to work before, but I'm willing to learn.

Thank you to everyone for being so welcoming to me. With any luck, I will soon be re-certified to practice medicine and will be able to do more than sit around in my apartment. I suppose Norway was not exactly where I imagined violent terrorist cults attacking people. My thoughts are with the victims all the same. Some people simply can't be reasoned with.

Cosima did mention perhaps taking a few extra days over in Amsterdam around the conference. I know we did just get back from vacation, but there is something to be said for what's available in that city.

Though it would take from valuable research time. And there does seem to be a fair amount of unrest in countries nearby. Hopefully it won't spill over.

What would you think about moving to the House of Life? The portal being closed to Asgard makes it less of a target, but it was attacked once. It can be attacked again. Sadie did build us all rooms. And it's a great place. I'm sure our parents would be welcome. Janet helped defend the House of Life, and Steve is close with Sadie. I don't know whether they would want to move. But I am not sure any of you would want to either.
