Celebrating Christmas felt weird, by the way. It was a good weird and I'm looking to ringing in the new year with the missus. It was hard to do this kind of stuff in space. Never knew what day it was. Little busy getting out butts chased all over the universe, too, I guess.

This place kinds of redeems itself at this time of year for all the boring old rules and lack of being able to shoot things. Thanksgiving - get together with friends and eat and drink. Christmas - get together with friends and eat and drink. Now New Year's Eve. Get together with everyone and eat and drink. Awesome. Are there celebrations like this any other time of the year?

Books. I am reading books because it seems to me that literature - or arts, in general - ought to inform a population and teach them how to behave. In the past several days I have read many books that suggest that there are not too many differences between the emotions of Time Lords and humans. (I am a student of emotion; I see the play of emotion in the faces of those that pace, I read their motivations as I read the pages of Tender is the Night or Pale Fire.)

Why do you not learn?

I shall continue to exist. I may assume other disguises, other forms, but I shall try to exist.

Anybody find out who made those calendars yesterday? I'd like to thank him or her for getting me my first and (I hope) last Article 15 of the year. Conduct unbecoming. Let me tell you, the Pentagon does not appreciate it when one of their mascots colonels shows up in a trashy picture. Even if it's just Photoshop. Fairly sure I convinced them I had nothing to do with it, although the whole thing raised an interesting question: if I'd had to take off my pants to prove it wasn't really my body in the picture, would I get another Article 15 for that?

So I've spent most of the weekend on damage control. Lots of teleconferences with Lackland and a few approved photo shoots. Beats being court-martialed, I can say that much.
