It took a long time to get ourselves sorted, even after Katniss liberated the districts and set us to rights. So, to see a world in which people have plenty and are throwing away perfectly useful items without so much as a thought -- you see where I'm going, don't you?
I'm not suggesting that we teach the children economics but what I recommend is we teach them about sustainable living, we teach them how to give and that will let them be more aware of the injustices in this world. I know (we're all Type A helpers, we were written that way) in this world, we could probably all use the help.
I also think weekend trips up into the country would be good. If we take small groups, I can fit them in my jeep.

You.
When you get a moment, I need you to sign an ERF for a check I had to write last night.[Filter to Herc Hansen]
You are a lifesaver. I might even have to go back to "hero"[ETA: Filtered to Marvel 616 + Pepper Potts, Maria Hill, Tony Stark (MCU) + Rory Williams, Amy Pond, Dorian Gray + Herc Hansen--after this]
But that aside, I had a lovely time last night, and if I haven't scared you off, I can promise a date with 95% less work next time. If you're interested.
I know now's probably not the time, but I wanted to say that. How is he?
For a friend, does anyone know a good oncologist? Or, really, a wizard who would be willing to help could work too. I can think of a few people who might be able to help, but I'll admit I'm not really close with any of them.
Did you see Xander wants to start aD&D night?
All right big sis, you've not exploded from all those memories have you?
You two get around to meeting yet?
Just got off the phone with the boss. You know he's starting to dig around for information.

Already told Mako, before any of you ask.
I didn't have a lot of time, there's plenty still to do for Stark Redundant before we leave for Paris, however:
Club Greenhouse Thursday, arrive at 6:00pm. You're to ask at the bar for a man named Marc, he's expecting you for an interview.
Greenhouse is one of the best clubs in the city, and if you're working the doors you can expect both tips and bribes. This is the job you'll want to take if they offer it to you.
On Friday, I've also set you up with Jeremy for an interview at The Rose Bar. I've done some work out of Gramercy Park, it's a nice place and much quieter than your typical club scene. Très Sophistiqué
Finally, on Saturday, you're to meet with Lindsay at The Darby Downstairs. This is a nice place, and it's run by the same people who do Butter and 1Oak --I feel like Stefon from Saturday Night Life, for Christ. They won't pay as well as Greenhouse, but this would be my second choice for you. It's a basement bar -- and considering how you feel about sunlight, I think you'll find it accommodating.
