There. I have finally gotten back into coding. Picked up where I left off and spent the last week and a half or so buried in code books. So glad I can understand this without too much problem, even if I had to look up a half dozen terms that weren't around when I started coding.

I am enjoying the weather, oddly enough. It is strangely reminiscent of California, although I am definitely glad for AC. Especially with all these computer things running in my room, it's rather warm. As such, I think I'll disconnect for the day and go do something interesting.

Anyone want to join me?

Glad to see you all made it out of the gremlin blight of 2013. Nasty little things. Though I'm fairly certain that Bann Purrsly put up a valiant fight against one. All that training on random dust motes came in use. We might have to buy her a new cat tree in celebration.

Well, I'm not surprised by what he's taking issue with, based on what he said the other night, but good God. I was hoping I wouldn't have to pin anything up.

So much has changed since 1997, that broadcast was simply more proof.

So why does it feel like I have no reasons to be hopeful? Some things like a job are falling into place and going back to school is a work in progress. So why does it feel like I'm right back at square one?

How can someone like me make a difference when I'm not even sure which way is even up?

Is it just me or is it unbearably hot in the city right now? I've got about four cooling charms going on all at once in my flat.

Also, I'm not used to carrying a gun. I said I didn't need it -- my wand is enough -- but it's NYPD regulations, I guess.

Finally, is it a staple of every reality to have a mass-murdering madman show up and show off like this? I already lived through that once in my lifetime, thank you very much, and that's enough.

But really, I try not to think about the bad stuff, you know? It's no good thinking about it. If I did, then I'd think about the fact that I should be dead. And I'm not. I'm alive. I win!

I do not know if it is a good thing or not that many people know my source material. In fact I haven't seen it in any bookstores or libraries yet. A part of me is intrigued to know what happens in my future though. Do people think I should try and track the books down?

In other news though I'm thinking of finding something else to do with my time. I spend the majority of my time at work or at the ranch working on the garden with Hawke and I feel like I could be using my time for other things? I have visited the Zoo not long after getting here and that didn't appeal to me and I have never been a big shopper. I have gone Horse Riding a few times with Christopher Pike which was fun and I am thinking of doing it some more. There is nothing more relaxing than racing the wind, talking to a horse after a long hard day. At the same time I want something more. Does that make any sense?

I find myself slowly getting used to this place. I think I have finally gotten used to how buys this city is as well as the trains. I've been enjoying watching Netflix too, I'm not sure if I should thank you guys for introducing me to that or not.

Is there anywhere I can practice my sword work, archery and horseback riding though? Also someone mentioned I had to take classes while I am here since I'm under eighteen? Does anyone have any information about that?

Someone did suggest I grow out my hair since I'm no longer pretending to be a boy here but I don't want too. I don't want to have long hair or dress as a lady like I did before pretending to be Alan. I like this and it allows me to do the things I enjoy easier.

I'm not a fan of terrorists - to me they are cowards. Anyone who derives power and pleasure from the slaughter of innocents is not someone I can respect.
