I realise that you offered to answer a few questions, but I do not wish to give the impression that I am ungrateful. As such, perhaps for now I shall ask just my most pressing and relevant questions:

1. What do you know of Twilight, the so-called and prophesied end of Magic. I realise it is not a tale you to which you are explicitly linked, but as a god whose domains do involve gnosis and magic, it seems prudent to ask.

2.Have you since your arrival come to any more of an understanding of the nature of the tesseract or our existence in this dimension?

3. Have you any special comprehension of the laws of magic in this dimension as they differ from those in yours or others with which you are familiar?

4. The 9th tract of the Corpus Hermiticum, "That No One of Existing Things doth Perish, but Men in Error Speak of Their Changes as Destructions and as Deaths" references obliquely a seventh Kuranide. Is this the Papyrus of Ani or some other, lost treatise, dealing with the nature of undeath?

I must say, being a "bounty hunter" is as fascinating as it is exhilarating. Who knew being on this side of the law could be so fun.

I am officially done with this semester. Before I start freaking out because I'm slightly behind schedule on my Christmas shopping, I think what comes first is a bit of celebrating.. or make plans for it for this weekend. (Julie, this means you.)

And I think after this year, I'll probably vow to either by the gifts several weeks to months earlier or just do online shopping. I don't think I can handle being surrounded by angry customers. Their bad mood spreads like cancer.

So...I've never celebrated Christmas before. I mean, I know what it is. I know the Christian mythology and of the Pagan holiday that was co-opted. But I've never really celebrated it. So, other than buying gifts for everyone we love as a way of emulating the three wise men (right?) what exactly are we supposed to do?

That was all preceded by flooding. We're supposed to get a half-inch of rain here tomorrow, but that's hardly a flood. I called Bobby to ask about weather patterns before I remembered that-- well, it didn't work. Probably because Bobby isn't here. There's flooding starting already in the UK, but I don't know if we could get there in time even if we flew. As for stopping the birds, I haven't found much of anything, but I'd feel a lot better about our chances if we had a crossbow on hand.

But we may not be looking at a repeat of that, anyway. The end of days is supposed to come with a final battle between the world-girdling serpent deity Hapikern, who is at war with the creator-destroyer deity Nohochacyum. As the legend goes, Nohochacyum will win his war against Hapikern by wrapping the snake around himself and smothering it, but snuff out all earthly life in the process. I don't suppose there's any chance of reasoning with him to leave the serpent alive and keep the earth alive, too. Because if I'd known killing Lilith would But how we'd figure out where a battle between a god and a serpent that's wrapped around the world is supposed to go down, I don't know.

What's our best move now, you think?

As much as I'm glad to be on vacation, I can't wait until the holidays are over. Yes, really.

I now have a book deal with Hyperion to write the rest of the Nikki Heat books and bring the Derrick Storm series to this world. Guess that means it is time to start working on book number five.

The big question I have now: when will Alexis and Kate and everyone else any poker players here? I'm thinking of hosting a game this weekend if there's enough interest.

Looks like I have my first twin in the building in the shape of Draco Malfoy's sister-in-law a witch! I'm warning all of you now before someone (you know who you are) accidentally mistakes her for me.

Now for a couple announcements!

1) Buffy Summers and I (I'll give you a moment to mull that over) are teaching a class on Modern Culture! We'll be covering a lot of information because there are just so many things that go into influencing and creating culture, but we won't go really in-depth with some things because there are other classes about that. I'll explain what twerking is but I won't teach you to how. Expect many field trips. Concerts! Museums! And so on. It'll be fun!

2) I got this idea from introducing Howard to one of my favorite books, so... would anyone be interested in a book club? I'd prefer to start with things that don't include anyone who was zapped here, just because I'm already finding it's really hard to read my favorites when I actually know the person behind the name. We could find a list of the top however many books and pick from there? If you're interested, let me know.

3) Got someone to let me borrow a dress for New Year's Eve for free advertising! It is amazing.

I've just completed The Great Mouse Detective and Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows. Now I've a date for the next week and a half with the illustrious Jeremy Brett. Eventually, I hope to work through all the various source material -- though I'm a bit hesitant to watch this.

Anyone who'd like to join me is more than welcome. I promise no emotional collapse or mental breakdown will occur over my analysis of my own fictitious roots.

(I can't promise the same for Watson, particularly after he's introduced to Nigel Bruce.)

So I was watching the news tonight, and there was a story about how it's pretty impossible to travel from New York to Chicago because of a storm in the "mid-west". Snow this time of the year sounds about right, doesn't it?

Anyway, I was thinking- obviously not now, but would you want to travel to Chicago sometime? I have a feeling it will probably be somewhat similar to New York, in that it will be really different and strange. Still, a lot of the buildings look more or less the same, and I think it could be really interesting.

I guess we'd have to save up money too.
