The Doorway: a panfandom game

I can't believe that tomorrow is going to be May 1. This year has been flying and I'm sure the end of the year will be here before I can blink. It is also hard to believe that towards the end of May will mark the second year I've been here. I still think I've just arrived here a few months ago, not two years ago.

Okay so....I've seen some weird things in my time and the one time I decide to go to church to pray...there it was. MY GHOST!! What the heck does that mean?!?!? Don't tell me I'm in danger of someone is playing a really mean trick!

I've seen a ghost. Not just any ghost - my ghost.

Let me explain, I arrived a few days ago from my travels, but couldn't enter the city until recently. Whatever brought the dinosaurs, created a barrier that was impenetrable. I dropped my luggage off at the mansion, and thought to go to church. It was empty when I went inside, but as I approached the pews to pray, I saw it out of the corner of my vision.

It was definitely me, definitely an apparition. I could see the wall behind, right through it. Eyes and cheeks sunken, mournful expression.

Then I remembered, when I was a boy there was a folklore, that on the 24th of April, St. Mark's Day, anybody who saw themselves walk into a church, will die within a year.

I'm hoping this is another Tesseract trick.

So, we're going to have pizza at Widdershins on the 24th. We'd do it Friday night, but I figure Full Moon, not such a great plan? So. Come Sunday night, have pizza, and we'll talk about patrols and various things that we need to do to keep the vampires off the streets.

You know, it's not like we were best friends exactly, but I really miss Sam.

The trees make patrol a whole lot more interesting. Not so sure about the extra inhabitants of the city though.

Felix, Milo, Oscar and I were sharing a bowl of cereal and scrolling through profile after profile of shelter cats in need of a home when it dawned on me ... I'm on the verge of becoming a crazy cat lady. THIS CANNOT HAPPEN. So, I'm going out, who wants to join me?

I've discovered a new boy band that Annie will love.

I'm trying to decide which would be a better way to spend tomorrow. I could either stay in the tower and risk being the victim of a prank or stay as far away from the tower as I can. I'm leaning towards the latter because anything is possible at the tower, especially on April Fool's Day.

I'm glad that spring officially officially arrived last week, but I couldn't help noticing that there is snow in the forecast for next week. If it does snow, that's not very spring like. I think next winter, I'm going to go live in San Francisco. Although, a visit now would be kind of nice too. Phoebe, want to go with me?

Today has made me feel uncomfortable and I'm sure it's related to all the peas I keep finding absolutely everywhere. My shoes, my shampoo bottle, the pots and pans at Sam's. Where are they coming from?

So... just so everyone knows, I made some changes to the patrol schedule. Not a lot, but like, we've lost a lot of people, and this was just to even out some of the nights.

If there's one you can't work for some reason, then let me know.

Also - like - are there people you know of that we could recruit? Cause... numbers are a little thin here.

With Groundhog Day just a couple of days away (please no more winter), Sam's will be having Happy Hour during the lunch and dinner services.

I've decided it's about time I entered a baking contest. I'd like to see how I measure up to other people. There aren't many right now in the area, but there is this one that looks simple and fun. The grand prize is a trip here, which I obviously wouldn't need, but it also includes a trip to the Food Network studios, and that's something I'd definitely be interested in.

I realized something today.

Winter is not my friend. I much prefer summer or at the very least, winter in San Francisco where it's light jacket weather.

Since there have been a few new arrivals lately, I thought I'd let those know about Sam's if you haven't already heard. Sam's is a bar and grill located on the first floor of the tower and as a welcome, the first drink is on the house. That is if you are of legal drinking age, and here it is 21. If anyone is need of a job, Sam's is always hiring. Also, there are two rooms off the main room that can be reserved for any occasion.

Sam's is definitely the place to be for any and all major sporting events, especially with the Super Bowl not far away.

If you aren't attending a party or heading to Times Square, Sam's will be showing several countdown shows this evening to ring in the new year. Under 21s are welcome, IDs will be checked.

I am planning to buy your Christmas presents this weekend and I have no idea what you want this year. Care to pass on any clues? If necessary, I can also provide you with clues to what I want.

And we really should have some family time and do something fun together. It's been a while since we've done something like that.

Now that it is December, I have decided to start working on Christmas cookies and share them with anyone who wants them. Right now I have batches of sugar, chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, and snickerdoodle. Room 1704. I might also bring some down to Sam's, but I haven't decided if I will yet.
