Cut for video, not filtered )

I am again amazed by the technology of this time. Not only can one connect instruments to...electric power to enhance their volume, but one musician can become an orchestra unto himself.

I have been released from the medical wing. I suppose it was a mercy that I was asleep when the gas was released. My dreams were terrible enough; I do not want to image what waking nightmares I might have had if I'd been awake.

As it is, I am a little afraid of sleeping. The horrors were so vivid that I am afraid they might invade my dream again even without the aid of the gas.

Yesterday I chased after a man who stole a woman's bag. I think someone caught him before I did, however, as when I did catch up with him...he was unconscious but murmuring something about a devil taking the bag. The bag was gone.

Very strange.

It was also more running than my body was quite ready for, I think.

I have acquired a serviceable violin. I am very happy to have one again and am investigating the works of composers who came...after my time. The internet is very helpful in this way.

Now let's see. We've Juno and the Paycock, but if they're at all concerned about the authenticity of accents, I rather think I'm up the creek.

I think I might see what this Defacing Michael Jackson is all about, or perhaps I ought to look into something I already know -- King Lear has never steered me wrong..

... Or then, there is Marie Antoinette but that seems both a bit awkward and hardly acting, I should think.

Does anyone have any suggestions? For once, I think I could do with some advice.

There is something wrong with the water. I am sparkling.

I am very glad that I acquired wine and bottled water before this happened, because I am not about to imbibe from the taps while this persists.

Anyone want to practice sword fighting with me this weekend?

Are we going to leave or stay here? I'd like to stay here.

Although I doubt we could afford it, I figured I'd ask, in light of our hostess' announcement. Are you happy here, Lady?

Additionally, look here now, poor little lamb. We ought to throw her a ladder. Lord knows it took me months to find a suitable tailor. And I'm still hard out for a cobbler.

You know, if you're looking for tailors, there's a demmed decent one uptown. I can get you his card.

I went to five clothing stores today, and I couldn't find a thing I wanted to wear. That is just a little frustrating.

Do you have time to help me get some new clothes?

Okay, I don't know whose idea of a practical joke this is or how I ended up on the crazy train, but let me off! This isn't funny! I was about to get married. I have the wedding dress to prove it, and if there's one thing that you don't want to do, it's mess with a bride on her wedding day!

In the spirit of taking rash, irreversible action in the face of dire circumstances, I invite you all to come tomorrow night for a casual celebration of the beginning of the end, of one of history's greatest lessons in looking before you leap, of the day we in la belle France decided we would throw up our hands, procure a very large armory, and decide later what exactly we were going to do with it - of, in short, the best sort of holiday on which to get utterly tight on a Sunday and have to wake up the next morning for work.

It will be a very happy Bastille Day. (And I will be a very happy host if a few of you would chip in a few dollars for Money in the Bank, which I consider a most meet and fitting backdrop for a holiday commemorating an assault on an empty building.)

Sunday, July 14, at Eight o'Clock in the Evening
Room 5209
Come One, Come All
Contributions are welcome in the form of snacks, beverages, and pay-per-view donations.

A public execution of a wealthy, innocent man. Where in the blazes does he think he is? Paris?

The physicians here will not let me have wine. Coffee and tea, yes, but nothing stronger. There is also something called soda that is fizzy and sweet that comes in metal cylinders. I am not sure if I like it or not.

This...Mandarin is a menace. The weapons of this time are more powerful than I dreamed anything could be.

I am Oscar François de Jarjayes, and I have been told the year is 2013. That is a long time away from 1789.

I have also been told I have a room prepared for me, but the doctor is keeping me quarantined while I begin treatment for consumption. He said I should be safe for other people to be around in a week or so. The hardest thing will be the boredom. The doctor warned me about something called googling, but he did not explain what that is.

I have three pressing questions, the most important of which I will ask last.

Are there any tailors or seamstresses here? The doctor's assistant took my uniform to be cleaned and gave me something called scrubs. I hope they are not considered the height of fashion.

Is there anywhere I might, when I am allowed out again, purchase a violin?

But, most importantly, I must know: did the people of Paris succeed in taking the Bastille?

Hello, everyone. My name is Virginia Potts. I'm better known as (and answer to) the moniker that Tony gave me many years ago, Pepper.

I wanted to take a moment to welcome you all to the Refugee Network. Tony Stark - as well as many others - created the network so you would have a safe space to talk without the prying eyes of the media. I'd like to give them a warm thank you for their hard work.

Some of you have been here for a while, and as of today, the Tesseract has given us more refugees than it has in the previous five months, and it's still going. I'd like to take a moment to thank the hard-working men and women of S.H.I.E.L.D. for their diligence and perseverance. Without their quick thinking when refugees began to appear, this would have been nearly impossible for any one of us to handle.

And on that note, Director Fury has asked me to pass along the message that they are in dire need for Administrative Staff to help with processing. Anyone who is interested can pass on a note to your Housing Assistant.

Speaking of, there should be one Housing Assistant per two floors (and in one case, three floors). Should you require any assistance, they should be able to help you. Potts Tower is not a new building, but we have gutted it, given it an ARC reactor for clean energy, a full service gym in the basement, an outdoor patio and pool area, and an entertainment area. We plan to utilize all of these areas in the upcoming holiday season in the hopes that it helps alleviate some of the melancholy of being without your families.

Once again, welcome to the Refugee Network and Potts Tower, and I look forward to getting to know you.

-Virginia Potts
