So by now you've all seen the Daily Bugle article.
This isn't exactly how I wanted this to be made public. We are in the middle of organizing an official press release on the subject of Dr. Connors, which will be given to newspapers which are
not the Bugle, but in the interest of clarity, and because it concerns all of you, I'm going to be upfront about what's going on,
and I'm going to ask for your help.
A number of you have already been approached about the project, and the reason for Connors's work release, but there are still a number of refugees here with talent, insight and knowledge that I'd like to tap. I want you to be involved, and so I'm going to be honest about what we're doing, with recruitment in mind.
There is a certain genetic retroviral disease known as
Retroviral Hyperplasia* which is extremely rare. Less than 0.05% of the world population have been diagnosed with this disease. But it's almost always fatal, right now there are no known cures, and existing treatments are only experimental, painful and not readily available. Because so few people suffer from this disease, most pharmaceutical companies aren't bothering to research it at all: as callous as it might seem, because there aren't a lot of people who need the research, it's seen as not profitable to spend the money looking for a cure. In other words, their lives are deemed unworthy to save because there's no real financial benefit. I consider this to be completely and utterly unacceptable.
In response, I've partnered with the
New York Genome Center in an effort to find ways to combat this disease. I've offered them the money to research the project, and I've sponsored the release of Dr. Curt Connors to work exclusively on the project. The
reason I've sponsored Connors is because he's pretty much the only available geneticist
in the world with firsthand experience dealing with RVHP. I know the decision to involve him was controversial, I know that he's been convicted of a number of crimes, and that while he was under the influence of his "Lizard" serum, he ruined a number of lives. But since he's the only person with direct experience, he might be the only man capable of
saving lives, and that's really what we're focused on. His sentence has not been reduced, and while his conviction is being appealed, as it stands right now, once this project is concluded he will be returned to Ravencroft for the remainder of that sentence.
Stark Industries, while offering money for the research and sponsoring Connors release is only indirectly involved with the NYGC's research and with Dr. Connors. But as of now, any specific questions or concerns can be addressed by either myself, or by the Project Manager, David Alleyne.
Here is where you come in: If you have any experience with disease research, with genetics, if you have medical experience or are somehow inclined or interested in this project, I'd like to hear from you. There are still a number of paid positions available, and I would like to employ as many great minds on this as I can, and there are plenty of you here with those great minds, so I urge you to help in the sincerest way that I can.

OOC Note: all references to Harry Osborn in the RVHP information document have been removed. Until people are involved in the project, they won't know that Harry is indeed sick, or that he's the focus of the research, this is to protect him and to protect OsCorp from market fluctuations directly related to his illness.
